Great video. Thanks for the shout out and glad I inspired your setup! My moss queen dug down under the soil within the first few hours. Theres a nice pile of dirt so it seems she has made herself a little kingdom under there!

Great video Adam . Its great to have you in the challenge . I like your take on the set up . I would be surprised if you ever see her set foot in that nest , but you never know its options . I wouldn't let her eating some eggs worry you at this stage they can lay like machines when they feel happy . Pretty sure she will be happy in that set up . Just monitore your escape prevention with those bra plast holes . You are being very daring with the bug gel but if she drops dead very soon we might all learn something . I don't really think she will . Keep us updated . Thanks for this .

I think I'll skip it this year and see how my other 3 colonies get on first. May have a crack at it next time though :) Good video, mate. As always.

Ot of the time most queen's with their first brood set won't lay more eggs until her first workers turn up, without the extra protection from her workers she will be at less risk loosing just a handful of brood as appose to loosing a whole bunch. Hopefully what she has will grow on a little and this may provide her with the certainty that laying more eggs will be beneficial

Looks really friendly that setup, hopefullly calm the young kady down and let her get to nurturing the brood :) my girl certainly liked her beetle jelly last year so good chance the bug jelly will be acceptable. Cant wait to hear howbthey get along

I spotted her earlier in the section with the sphagnum moss climbing up around the lid, must be checking out her environments
