Kuya when building with bricks for your bahay. Pay extra pera to upgrade the quality of the bricks. Whatever the components they have at least double the components. Assign someone or pay someone to oversee the full process. Just to keep them honest, unfortunately. Pilipinos are good people but…. They usually use sand and other components. But it has to be good quality sand. Not sand and dirt. The ratio for mixture has to be expertly mixed. If not you will wind up with sub-grade quality. You barely touch a brick and it will crumble. You want your walls to crumble be hind the paint and finished structure. The bricks will crumble around the rebar. Rebar your walls. Hmmm…how do I know? Familiar with construction in the Pilipines. Paint your house with mold resistant paint. Usually chemically premix in the paint. Best wishes in your new house kuya. Best to you kuya and ate.

Finn, I was intently watching your vlog when you were showing your own Icelandic family all over Palawan, esp. around Coron. As you know we already booked our flight for the Phils. for a holiday. We are definitely going to Coron. I always wanted to visit the place. We are supposed to have gone there in 2020, but bec. of the covid pandemic, it was cancelled. It took almost 4 mos. to get our airfare money back from the airline company. God help us, we hope that the world is healed from this pandemic now. Hope the Phils. will not have any calamities either. I really miss my motherland so much. It has been almost 10 yrs. now since I haven't visited. I know so much has changed the country since. Watching from British Columbia, Canada. By the way, happy for you & Sherilyn to be able to slowly build your life for the better there in the P.I. Having known Manila at the end of 1988, where the buildings were on the lower floors, in 2001 we were impressed. In recent years, yes it has typically become a New York style megalopolis, especially Makati, you notice it on the right when landing. I remember the huge works at the airport at that time when I shared my cigarettes with the workers, waiting for a stopover for the Bisayas.

We are all family oriented Finn. Glad that your family enjoyed their first but not the last visit for sure in the Philippines. Very good investment Finn as you can't go wrong building your future in the Philippines. You are 20 years ahead from the rest that is planning to settle in PH. Your are definitely right Finn upon Purchasing vehicle in Manila as you will save a lot of cash yet enjoying the road trip heading to the province as we did. You will enjoy places heading south from Manila to nearest ports such us Batangas to Negros, Batangas to Cebu with about 11k or 200USD for a Pick up track freight from a Ro-ro vessel. Enjoy your new KTM Bike. There is local movie way back 1989 with the Three Ladies named Aida, Lorna and Fe. Since you have Anna then KTM will be good for Aida hehe. It's up to you. See you in Dauin. That's my ex 1st bigbike :) KTM 390 ADV. I enjoyed using it for 2 years. I just sold it last Month and exchanged with Veloce 500 scrambler type that can go light off roading. To avoid stalling in low gear (1st and 2nd) change the front sprocket with 14teeth.
