Being mute does not mean he couldn't communicate, all he needed to do was just write down his responses. He did eventually gain the ability to talk, and that's all he needed, i liken it to "The Mouse that Roared", when he spoke, finally, the whole world listened. Tell you what, if I were him, and Shoma, i would keep all of the expensive stuff, and the manuscripts, locked up in a safe, that way, if the parents ever tried to break into steal anything, they'd have a hard time, I'd also get a German Shepherd, and have him trained as a personal guard dog for Shoma.
