As a 41 year old man who grew up as a Christian in Texas, from my perspective, these young men don't realize how fortunate they are to be taught such wisdom. The idea that God has needs from me is a game changing paradigm shift.

That isn’t a thing ….there’s “Judeans” and Khavarian’s that took over …lying about who they are and what they do …Judaism isn’t the religion of the Khavarians … he’s a Kabbalist….which according to true Judaism is Heresy of the highest order !

Here is the ugly truth. You are needed to pay taxes. You are needed to contribute your kids to war and to keep the GDP growing. You are needed to buy, buy and buy to keep the economy growing. If you want to get real, you are needed at home next to your kids. Yes they need you, they don't need a bigger house.

Hello Rabbi , Eugeme here. Please consider the possibility that Elohim has always been a creator and has always had a creature to consider valuable that He could bring pleasure to. Is it possible that someone gets their pleasure from giving from their abundance rather than receiving to fill their emptiness? If His creation is mortal it will need to be sustained and if it is aware of reality, it will know these things, and be able to respond. To love something or someone is to believe that it/they are "precious". We always love what we believe to be precious no matter how little or how much we "know" about it/them. I know that I need to be sustained and I know that I did not cause myself to be, that others did that. That makes them precious and I love them for that. When I became convienced that Elohim was the original and final cause, I knew He was precious and I can't help but love HIm.

I'm reminded of a dream I had. I was riding a wave or being carried by the wave down a river. i was trying to get to higher ground at the time. I reached the top of a mountain which was the goal but i was alone. I remembered seeing people watching me ride that wave as they stood on the riverbanks. i then felt i needed to go backdown that mountain to get the people to the top of the mountain. i knew there was risk going back down but i knew it had to be done. Then I woke up.

A question: If nobody needs anything, how could my mother need me to call her? In that sense, can I even be needed by anything but god?
@richyburnett
@richyburnett Жыл бұрын
So we can’t/don’t have any needs…but your mother can/does have needs…. Make your mind up. He accuses them of lying whilst saying someone else needs something they can’t because they don’t have needs. This good man, has stumbled upon an idea, a good idea, which he is stretching across all of existence to turn into a drum he can play this one beat on. It’s a very interesting point and it contains many good understandings but it does not fit all matters. Life is not a drum. What he is trying to say with this ‘needs’ issue is that GOD IS LOVE - but He does not need love to be love. Love does not need, it is. And we are necessary for that love to be in relation to everything which is in material reality. It is indeed necessary that we love because that is who and what he is, but it is not all that he is. Christianity doesn’t teach vulnerability? Dude……one word…. CRUCIFIXION

I respect you for your wisdom and for your age, but I have to strongly disagree with what you said about Christianity. God never says “don’t love me? Fine go to hell”. I kindly remind you, in case you have forgotten, that according to Christians God send himself to the Earth, lived among us sinners, ate with us, smiled with us, suffered and cried with us. And finally took all our sins upon himself and died a horrible death in pain and agony on the cross. Love is sacrifice, it have always been sacrifice, it never changed. He sacrificed himself for us showing his vulnerability and love. A sacrifice many of us didn’t deserve.

It is my opinion and long time experience Jews and Christians are very different and act quite differently due to the nature of doctrine. One is self directed and the other is about others. Yes, that is part of conversion but that is also about treatment of others in life. One is inside focused and one is more outside conscious. It’s up to you however you want to view that in terms of life and living.

in the human sense as well dear Rabbi, vulnerability as the numerator time as the denominator, as a fraction of love; kind of like what one chose first (א). 🔽 So for example: “when things are great, when food is plenty, when happiness attends; what is the first choice for that love? - and in parallel when things are not good, there is no food, sadness is overcome” what is their target of love? 🔼 • and then when the past and future also becomes meaningful with the Olam, • the credit of that love goes to ? (Then, i believe it is more allowed to say “that love”) + and also for all that when it is: “it’s all my fault…” this can be that love too
@archanglemercuri
@archanglemercuri Жыл бұрын
and that all my fault part: • that has a very very high cost: costs pride, costs recovering all selves to help carry the blame, and to somehow make that all at least meaningful enough to “take the blame” - suuuuper vulnerable

In genesis 1:26 who do you believe G-d was talking to? I know many Christians believe “He” was sitting with “His” son but that seems similar to Andy Taylor and Opie. It was metaphorical. Animals were created before mankind- they had needs that were by instinct only - didn’t have souls or even the ability to know of the Creator. The next of the Creation was mankind that mixed the instincts with the Divine (aka souls). Animals don’t have the ability to control their instincts because they have no soul. Bit humans were also created with animal instincts but we do have a G-dly soul to control our instinctive behavior and bring it to a higher level. Some say G-d was referring to the angels who are tentacles of G-d but who have no freedom of choice. Even though the Master of the Universe is unknowable and beyond anything we can comprehend I do know “He” wasn’t referring to the man in the NT.

Your brain inside your head is the source of your being (where your thoughts, memory, sense of being and consciousness live) but the brain itself has no receptors for its own sake. If a brain surgeon where to touch your brain, you would not feel it (of course you would need anesthetic for the scalp opening). Anyways, here is a floating source of intelligence organ locked up in the dark relying on senses to experience the world around (taste, touch smell etc.). That’s what you are to God. We are made in the God/universe’s image. Without the brain you are nothing (no receptors to protect you or nothing to guide you) without you God is lonely and can’t experience. That’s your purpose! since we are all part of the same cosmic body there is a role you play in aiding other parts. Everything in your body has a function.

So let me get this right, we (Jewish people) are here to make the world Godly. I have seeing thousands of people through my life from Catholic, Christian and many others preach to me the word of God, But NEVER EVER A JEW, so how is it that you are planning to accomplish that mission? Lets be honest here, Jews don't care much about none Jews.

It's not only the Ten Commandments. There are 613 mitzvahs for Jews. 7 Noahide Laws for non-Jews, not the "Ten". Your other points are well taken.

There are teachings that there are four levels in sacred writings; from pashoot/ simple to sod/ secret. Judaism supports multiple interpretations of sacred teachings (how else can one reach to know an unknowable G-d?) and in the light of this approach sacred writings are not a manual. AND everyone must approach sacred texts in a way that is true to your own heart. To you the texts are like a manual. This works for you & that is holy.

@@brynawaldman5790 that's all fine. The Torah is from G-d. His words, shared with us by way of Moshe. If you don't want to think that is true and fact, you don't. We do. That's fine for each of us to go along as we choose.

Rabbi Friedman does your mum know your preaching pentecostal holy spirit stuff here (though to be fair, the pentecostals word it awfully) with regards that beautifully existential "G-d needs". And if G-d = Love? Serve that need with all your heart and all your soul. G-,d is good.
