I partially agree with jeyamohan. He has the right to say things bluntly, he is forward in his opinions. There is a large and real issue of bachelor groups especially aged 16-30 that behave recklessly at tourist, nature and exploration points. However this isn't only observed in Kerala youth but most of South India in various degrees, from mahabalipuram beach to city spots to kodai, Ooty and even spots in Karnataka including wonderla there are stag batches of men with zero regards to rules, other visitors, girls and nature. Stricter punishments and fines are the only solution to these problems. To generalize this issue as one only observed in Kerala and to call the movie makers drug use promoters is just angry words spoken for effect.

I agree that Manjummal boys is a very well made movie and quite entertaining as well. However, it does make alcoholism seem like an OK thing. Imagine you going to a tourism destination with your kids and wife and seeing boys behaving like this, you'd be very angry and disappointed. The movie should've shown how alcoholism was one of the reasons why they ended up doing these reckless activities like entering prohibited areas and getting into trouble. Alcoholism should not be promoted like this.

First of all they didnt entered in any prohibited area and her ei am talking about the real Manjummel boys. Gey have said it many times that when they were visiting that place they werent deunk to a point to lose their mind and also there were no barriers. Yes there was a board written in tamli. As the guys, real one, didnt knew tamil tey couldnt understand anything. Also they saw some people coming from this particular area. So thats the reason why they went to that place. Them falling into the pit and alcohol has nothing to do with each other. And about alcohol they are not 30 or 40, they were guys who are at rhe beginning of thwir adulthood and they went for a vacation...its common for them to consume alcohol(while the driver was out of drinking)

You are probably one of those kids who behaves this way and so you feel urge to justify the silly things you personally do much like most people. There is no such thing as "drunk to a point to lose their minds". As a doctor and as someone who used to drink during my college days(out of peer pressure) and having stopped about 9 years back I can assure you, there is no such thing as "drunk to point to lose your mind". Even a single pint of alcohol can cloud your thoughts and slow your senses. Which is why driving laws around the world take drunken driving so seriously. Besides, do you know if any research publication which says you can drink and still have complete control over your senses??? I guess not. So anything done after drinking is considered "under influence of alcohol". There's a general excuse that alcoholics give to others, that alcohol isn't the issue, the issue is with the people who consume alcohol. In my entire adult life, I am yet to meet someone who behaves normally after consuming alcohol. They are a minority, majority consume alcohol to lose their minds. 70%+ of all crimes against women are done under influence (NCRB data),more than half of all road accidents involve atleast one drunk person. In Kerala alone, the domestic violence cases under influence of alcohol come to around 80%. These numbers would've been OK if it was in a backward state like Chattisgarh, but we are the most literate and empowered state in the nation. Yet, we justify alcoholism, we justify smoking, we justify even drug use to an extend by calling it "personal choices", when in reality these are not personal choices but social evils. The constitution of India itself species in the DPSP that we should strive to get rid of alcohol yet, noone has done anything to curb it's use. The only time when this state showed any semblance of doing things right was under AK Antony and Oommen Chandy when Bar licences were cancelled and fewer licence quota was advertised. However in the past 8 years of Pinarayi we've opened even more bars and even more toddy shops. You wouldn't know the damage it caused because you live in an imaginary world where it's "normal" for young people to drink and break rules. Grow up.

There's actually a study by Morten et al that shows empirically that studies on the benefit of alcohol at completely botched, especially ones that came before 1980s. You don't seem like the kind that would actually read something for knowledge, but if you want I post here the links to countless articles that speak about the physio-psych-socio-cultural issues of alcohol. If you are going to sit there and say "no he said he wasn't drunk". Just shows your lack of common sense. And so I couldn't care less about what you think about my "maturity" or "my character". I'm not here to impress you kid. And yes, I will judge you. Judging a person is instinctive in humans. We judge everything and everyone. It's how we humans function and evolve. Hi Sai I’m from kochi .After long 9 years I went to theatre to watch this movie I loved the movies after long time I watched good movie Kamal Hassan song was appt for this movie. I had really good experience after long time But once we came out and we took an auto to home we had a bad experience, My husband took a auto he said Rs 210 but other auto driver came and made us to stop because the auto came was not from that stand and then we asked that driver for what amount you come he said Rs 270 so my husband questioned the other auto driver was so intimidated he was so rude . I have seen some people here they are so rude because of these type of people other good humans are being labelled as bad .

Sai, one question... The movie is good and their friendship (both in movie and real life) is good.. But why no one is criticising their decision to enter a barricaded and restricted place and put themselves and others in danger.. Because the real Manjummel boya didnt entered any prohibited area. When they visit that place at 2006 there was no barriers...only a tamil board which as non tamilians they couldn't understand. Not only one of them among them has already went pass this particular area where rhe pit was, they also witnessed some people coming from that area. In the movie tere was a barrier but in real incident there wasn't. This was confessed by the real guys themselves
