Manjushri Empowerment H H Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok

Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok was born in 1933, the third day of the first month of the year of the Water Bird, in the Golok Sertar region of Kham. He is said to have come out of his mother’s womb in meditation posture, reciting the mantra of Manjushri, “Om a ra pa tsa na dhi” as soon as he was born. (He would later go on to recite this mantra more than 13 billion times in the course of his life.)
On 30th August 1993 During the annual summer retreat at Lerab Ling H.H Khenpo Jikme Phuntsok bestowed the Empowerment of Manjushri of his own terma cicle on the Rigpa Sanga and many other fortunate Dharma practitioners who where present at that time. Foremost among them H.E Sogyal Rinpoche, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche who was translating, Khenpo Namdrol, and many others. Please consider watching this video as a precious an sacred moment for yourself. Sogyal must probably be putting, the faith of his disciple, through the acid test. If he is not your root guru then carry on ridiculing him, it wont make any difference to those who believe in him. I, personally, had never been his followers but I don't want to demean any other human being because thats not buddhism.

How come Tibetians with all their hidden spiritual knowledge, including this black manjushri, failed to defend their own homeland from the colonising atheist Han Chinese?

That is a quite a difficult question to answer. I would say there were many factors that played a role. First off all the military superiority of the young and motivated communist China, of course this goes without saying. But on a spiritual level I heard one Lama say, that the turbulent world could not stand such a peaceful place. And that the Karma of tibet had reached his limit.Also I remember H.H the Dalai lama saying; (and I hope I am not misquoting him) That Tibet at that time was a quite a divided place, that there was a lot of political and regional disunion at that time. and that there was a certain naivety, and internally-focused culture. A feeling that the more than thousand year buddhist empire of Tibet would remain for ever, and it could even withstand the political reality and technological and military advancements of that day. You could also say that because of this tragedy the wider world could come in contact with the incredible treasures of tibetan wisdom culture, we would never know how it would be if things had gone different.. It is difficult to judge about things like karma, especially of a whole nation. Let us make most use of this incredible wisdom culture, our world needs it more than ever. I think this is the best way how we can honor and help the tibetan people.

Beginners Mind I appreciate your attempt to answer the obvious point that I have raised. Although with all the mental gymnastics these Tibetians, lamas and dalai lamas can conjure fact remains that their self-proclaimed spiritual power and enlightenment etc were no match for the power of gun. These lamas keep selling emancipation, techniques and feel-good sound bites to the consumerist westerners who after being overfed on hyperconsumerism of all forms - from fast food to no strings attached sex, want to achieve "nirvana". But for anyone with common sense intact (an increasingly uncommon attribute), all of this talk of spiritual power has no factual evidence. This was proved when atheist communist han Chinese colonised Tibet, and this is being proved every day when the same atheist communist han Chinese are pushing more and more han Chinese in Tibet to change the demographic structure of the land. No wonder their "spiritual leader" is still on the run.

Dear friend, Have you ever met with an authentic Tibetan-Buddhist Yogi and have you done extensive tantric retreats? I think the proof lies in the pudding, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. not in an huge global political military event more then 50 years ago. In my little experience, more then anything else Buddhist meditation and tantric meditation in particular. Has the capacity to transform my mind and helps me to overcome some of my more destructive mental habits. It helps me to become a more positive, loving and stable human being. I think that is the whole point of the practice as I understand it. For me it is a miracle in it self. And doesn't war and violence ultimately all starts from the untamed mind, I think it does. And it that sense Tibetan Buddhism has the capacity to avert war and conflict.

@Andrew Hibberd - there is no issue regarding what a particular group of religious people do or don't as their ritual practice, the issue here is that they claim to attain certain "metaphysical", "spiritual" powers through these practices. Where can we see the proof of these claims? In their concrete actions. And in this these Tibetians have failed miserably. All they have are delusions of subjugated, and a cult of following "white" western "spiritualists" seeking truth in alternative / eastern / oriental philosophies.

first of all it is impossible to defend china with huge population, advanced ammuntion and resources. even in 1950 as for i accept it as part of nature where strong bullies the weak and eat them up. it has nothing to do with karma as claimed by some idiots lamas based on previous fact of7 century tibetan domination of china and central asia as karmic debt owed to china. that is horse shit spouted by lamas who lack correct understanding of karma. that is why dalai lama chose complete autonomy in union with china as practical choice and reasonable. symbosis. fact is no nation will last forever. history proves that. empire come and go. some day some stronger nation will bully china too. that is also unavoidable. you have to accept the nature. even bacteria rely on us and we rely on them for survival.i accept my choice as being stateless and my generations will merge with host nations and dissappear. that is also reality we tibetans cannot hide from. its for better that we tibetans are wiped out since it is our ancestor fault on too much blind devotion and belief in lamas instead of experimenting the words of buddha and being your own saviour or master. when everything is illusion why idiots tibetan didn't fight back. thats is very puzzling to me. i doubt that they lack understanding of buddha inexpressible truth. everything he taught is illusion he knew very well yet people need teaching as crutch as if this is the truth.. emptiness is empty of itself. so is violence or non violence both have same taste or essence.
