Who is Manjushri? He is said to have been born in Mt Wutai in China and to have founded the city of Kathmandu in Nepal. He appears as an ordinary lay disciple and as a representative of the Buddha. He appears as white, orange, black and even as the child of a turtle. In fact, Manjushri has no colour, no shape, no beginning nor end, but resides within all of us, even in the donkeys and the grass they are eating. If we want to see Manjushri, we only need to call his name.

“文殊師利是誰？據說，他出生於中國的五台山，他也創建了在尼泊爾的加德滿都城。他以白色、橘色或黑色示現，甚至還示現為烏龜之子。事實上，文殊師利無色無形，也無始無終。他居住於我們所有人之內，甚至在驢子以及牠所吃的草之中。如果我們想要見到文殊師利，只要呼喚他的名號即可。"
