Tell me about it. Even though it's still widely considered to be a beloved and iconic cornerstone of 1980s era Shonen Jump back home in Japan, it never caught on in popularity overseas since it was never officially released in the West. Especially compared to other hit series from that decade, most glaringly Fist of the North Star and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Honestly, considering how much American anime fans love tough and manly characters, you'd think this series could have been an instant success here in the US. But no. Instead, poor Momotaro just got stuck in the shadow of Kenshiro and Jotaro. Hopefully one day this series will get the full recognition it truly deserves. 😓

I watched the show, the principle runs a private school to turn delinquent boys into manly men. It's less about education and more about survival, although they do have classes. The bald guy is just some random small timer that the principal knocked out at the bus station. Everyone else looks normal, like skinny and small, but the guys who go to this school all look like jojo and kenshiro

Trends move faster in people's heads than in the industry, that's why we are still being bombarded with shitty isekai light novel adaptations nine years after SAO dragged it's bloated, cancerous form from the cesspool of tropes that birthed the modern light novel industry. The little sister thing had been rearing it's head in anime for a long time, but massive success of the Oreimo anime in 2013 turned a trickle into a deluge. It takes about ten years for this sort of thing to die down, but since modern content is getting geared more and more towards streaming, old templates of market behaviour might not apply so well. Why the fuck did that guy decide to burn down Kyoto Animation instead of A1 Pictures boggles the mind. KyoAni are one of the few remaining "good guys" of the industry! Wanna burn someone down, do it with the guys who keep lowering the bar for everyone else!
