In the Scissors episode, if you look at your friend's notebook, he has a picture of the holy symbol. You need to change the chalkboard to match that symbol or you get screwed on the final battle. But you won anyway, so it didn't matter.

Ironically enough, I did the Caped bathroom mask guy correctly on my second playthrough and it actually led to a much harder boss fight. Although a better "ending".

Just think about the ending. You are one of the students the sporty girl has gathered to stop the end of the world from a weird statue. You normally wouldnt believe it, but creepy things have been happening and you started thinking that it just might be real. You really do believe it as supernaturally bad luck hits you, like world wants you to stop looking into it. All but two of the investigations end in failure and successes dont feel real. What is real however is that your leader has taken the burden of protecting you all from horrors and you can see it in the bruises and dark rings around her eyes. Both times someone tried to help her against horrors they died, while everyone else just cowered. First time it happened, she took Aka's mask with her and you never saw her without it anymore. You thought she was mourning. The second time, she had went wild with desperation to end the monstrosity haunting your school. You thought it was over, never noticing how the scissors had vanished. Then she calls you to the lighthouse and says its time to end this once and for all. But she looks dead on her feet and you convince her that she has to rest or she would die. She rests, but after an awfully short time, she says we are running out of time. And you start climbing. Faulty plug is ripped out without hesitation. On the next floor she stops, mumbles a bit and continues. Then old man Takashi comes down and tries to tell us something about rules changing before leader out of nowhere stabs into Takashi three times with scissors. The same scissors of the monster she had killed. As you look at her horrified. She looks back, Aka's mask hiding her face and bloody scissors in her hand. She looked like the monsters you had investigated. "Let's go", she mumbles and you follow, wondering if you should push her down the stairs. The last obstacle demanded someone be electrocuted. Before anyone could think of solution, leader stuck her hands in and suffered. She can barely even walk anymore but no one dares to touch her. On the top you find a ritual circle and an ominous stone tablet at the center. No one is there. You wonder if you are too late. That the evil has already been summoned. And you could swear she kicks the monolith over, no matter what others said she did. Darkness lifts. Its morning. Its like it was all just a dream. Your leader who saved you is unconcious and when she wakes she cant remember what happened. You all decide she didnt need to know.

For the paper in the toilet bathroom it's a common legend. If you pick Red you get beaten to death and if you pick blue you get chocked. The good answer is to tell them that you don't want any paper, but I guess you need to learn it in game ^^;

Almost dead from a lack of stamina and reason, not to mention doom almost hitting 100%... and you pulled it off. That was awesome. I was on the edge of my seat towards the end. Praise those cursed scissors for making the later fight a breeze. I am so impressed by this release, it is insane thinking this was made in MS Paint. Hopefully it spends its time in Early Access well and irons out those few bugs you encountered. I'm all for this popping up in some streams.

I know it's early access & I'm sure it's still being tweaked. Great playthrough!

After playing a while, you get to know that, but not at the beginning. @@NaturalFlirtGamer It was a bug, as the game counted using pills as an action of discarding an item. The sidequest requires you to discard any items two times to complete it, and the description refers just that.

You mentioned in the intro how this was a “horror” Oregon Trail. This does resemble that, however... there actually IS a horror version of Oregon Trail on iPhone called “Organ Trail”. It functions very much like the original floppy disk version (yes, the practically archaic one), except that you’re surviving the zombie apocalypse. There’s even a hunting mini game, but you shoot zombies instead of bunnies and bison. I think it does cost a tiny bit of money; it’s NOT free, but I don’t think it bombards you with in-app offers. Thought I’d share in case anyone was interested.

I like the setting and idea of this game. What I don't like is how random and disconnected it is. "Go to the beach to progress the mystery about disappeared students. You found a teddy bear that turns out to be a bear trap, you failed every stat check you didn't even knew about and lost 5 stamina, 10 reason, got 40% doom, two curses and lost all your money. You progressed the mystery, go to mansion to progress it further. This time you found an abomination patchwork monster made of 2 humans, 3 corgi dogs and a T-rex skeleton, it speaks in riddles and elder god language but you can understand it. You feel blessed. Mystery solved, go take a shower. On the way back you got mugged, permanent knowledge loss." Like seriously...

Junji Ito is a very unique talent as far as horror writers goes. The Uzimaki series and Hellstar Remina are 2 of his best works and very memorable due to the fact his stories aren't always body horror but some give you a sense of shear helplessness.

I remember playing on my second playthrough, the stars were aligned perfectly, each mystery was decently resolved. I entered the lighthouse, my sense of Doom was at a all-time high of 97. And then out of nowhere, Takashi-san came out of the shadows, "nothing personal kid" and just like that, Takashi-san ruined my entire career forever... I honestly believed there couldn't be something more evil then _Something truely evil..._

I have just started watching your video but that black marble statue minds me of the outer god Nyarlathotept, in the sense that he is described as tall, black figure and is well known for bringing chaos, madness, and death with him wherever he goes. Likewise the scissor woman reminds me of the "Slit Mouthed Woman" from Japanese Urban legends in terms of her Glasgow grin and her wielding scissors. Either way, I hope to see more of this game in the future and am quite interested in getting it for myself, even though horror games and I...disagree let's say. Either way, have a great day.

I'd say the graphic style is more influenced by 1980's era Macintosh Apple Computers rather than MSDOS. IBM PC's. You can find examples in older classic games like Deja Vu, Uninvited, Shadowgate, and the Manhole. Most which you can find on steam in the macventure bundle.

funny thing, the man in the red cloak is based off of a horror story, the same one the toilet hand from the legend of zelda series is based from. what you are supposed to do to avoid dying from this spector is to simply not choose any of the color papers, as choosing one of the two colors is basically choosing how you will die.

Loving this game, beat it 2 times already n now the fun thing is to sit down when I have free time between tasks to try n finish a run as quick as I can within the time I have. Never liked rogue likes, but the themes in this got me good - as a fan of both Junti Ito n Lovecraft (as most people). Hope people is enjoying it as much as I am. Can't wait for the full release, to play it again calmly like the first time. Wasn't going to watch people play it, but since it is Manly I am sure it will be pretty fun /o/ lets go! Edit: Finished, and indeed it was pretty fun! Even tho you had pretty bad luck with the dice, I didn't even know it was possible to not get the right gossips.... I agree with what people said on you making other videos trying to get other endings, besides there is more mysteries to be solved, in my opinion, you didn't get the best one for your first one.
