i speak spanish and tried to make some sense of the text the brain says, thought im not sure if im right or just recognising the bodies in the water. 1-fn almen te li bre - "finalmente libre" = finally free 2-j i j odebuu u - best thing i could come up with is "Hijo de buu" = Son of buu , kinda like the son of majin buu or something, dbz reference? 3-jmam a dera - "ja mamadera" = ha baby bottle, it could also just be regular spanish slang which is most probable
@Ikworsu6 ай бұрын
I mean, the 1st one is totally meant to say "Finally Free", I think the latter two are just gibberish that aren't meant to be understood, as the big head thingies do seem to be either a virus or some type of alien of some sort, so that'd be a somewhat good explanation why they're just saying total gibberish, I speak spanish and understood the first one at first glance almost, but the second and third. . . I had absolutely no clue what they were talking about and couldn't make out a single thing, so it's likely that the brain things were just either talking in a different language unique to their kind, or that they were rotting away (They were exposed to the air with no constant blood supply) so they stopped working shortly after to the point they couldn't make up sentences.
@sasunarusai6 ай бұрын
I can see what you're saying but I'm not a 100% sure. It's really hard to actually read those cryptic letters. I'm adding my interpretation of this: 1) finalmente libre = finally free. 2) hijo de puu/buu = pretty much "son of a b1tch". The second option (with the "b" instead of "p") is the same but it's like saying son of a birch instead. Trying to conceal a bad word) 3) mamadera = slang and an expression of surprise. Like "oh wow!" or "oh my god!" Also the forecast comments are hilarious. I must joke about weather forecast at least once a week. Is this an argentinian thing? 😂

Hijo de buuu is a kind of bizarre slang here for "hijo de puta", translating literally to "son of a bitch" although mostly told with a different tone than the english expression and usually said to convey frustration similarly to maybe the english "well, fuck me" said with humour. Given the developers constant use of jokes and bizarre references to our culture it's very likely that that's what it's meant to say. Same case with the third one, it's difficult to explain slang and expressions from here but I'm pretty sure it's mamadera and you nailed it.
@Ikworsu6 ай бұрын
@@lukarizzi1654 I've never heard "Buu" being used as "Puta", is this normal? Like maybe "Pu-" as in the person stopping themselves right before finishing with "-ta", but "Buu" is not quite the same as "Pu-", they sound sorta similar, but that's it.

A fascinating game! The experience of something going horribly wrong and being unable to fix it, trying and trying to find something to do and make it better when nothing's fixing it, stress is just building and building. It has been a long time since I've seen a game harken back to The Buried in a non-literal way. This seems to be a metaphor for stress building, potentially from work or otherwise, before the rain comes, burying all underneath. Trying to understand the world and system and society, but its mass crushes you rather than allowing you a moment to try to understand the whole. This game reminds me of Junji Ito's S**cide Balloon story, which is a similar metaphor, this time for the Japanese societal work environment, overwhelming people with stress to the point that they unalive. As always, surreal games like this can be interpreted many ways. The apparent epidemic hints at The Corruption, of course, but the lack of disgust or bugs makes me question that. But I could be reading into this too much. Maybe this is just a very strange world, where the top floors of apartments don't have roofs and when it rains, people literally lose their minds. There's no way to deny the inherent absurdity of the concept presented, but I can say I absolutely love this game. The author definitely did a great job with it.
