The question is how to distinguish between mind and consciousness? Consciousness is a function of mind, not brain but mind. Brain is a partial physical representation of mind. Without mind, there is no consciousness that can be perceived. You cannot perceive consciousness without body and you cannot perceive consciousness without mind. Mind, intellect, consciousness and ego, they are the four aspects of mind. First is mind, which is a function of mind itself, but it is that mind which is emotional, one that cannot reason. A mind’s work is to have a resolve, a decision that I have to have this. The mind just gives a little ignition to the fire and gets on to the side and leaves you confused and thinking about it.
