About 15 years ago I was in India. At the airport in Mumbai/Bombay I was waiting to check in with an Indian colleague of mine to return to London when we saw quite a kerfuffle going on at another check-in counter for different flight. It drew quite a noisy crowd and a number of different uniforms. My colleague, of course, had to go over and see what was happening. Eventually he came back with the story. An Indian family was checking in on a return flight to Kenya, where they lived, after a long holiday back in India. Unfortunately, while they were in India the patriarch of the family died. They wanted to bury him in Kenya as they already had a family plot there (they were Christians, not Hindu). However, the cost of shipping a casket to Kenya was many, many thousands of rupees. Since they already had a return ticket for him on Air India, they had him tightly wrapped up in a shroud and they just wanted to plonk him in the seat that was already paid for to get back to Kenya. The hullabaloo was still going on when we finally checked in (a long process there) and headed for the departure area.

@@lilli4280 Я летел из Сингапура в Хабаровск. В сумке у меня лежал сверлильный патрон с конусом. На досмотре компьютер нарисовал на экране гранату. И перечеркнул её красными линиями. Таможенник стал мне объяснять что гранаты нужно перевозить в спец контейнере. С зади нас летели рыбаки. Они подняли шум. На хрена ты везёшь домой гранаты! У нас что своих нет? Я конечно был в шоке и не понимал что они все от меня хотят. В России меня бы скрутили без разбора и объяснений. Конечно все обошлось нормально. Меня поразило спокойствие таможенника! Вот человек сам спокойный и не создал бардак при посадке.! Представляю сколько ему каждый день приходится принимать кардинальные решения спокойный как Удав в засаде! ☝️😜

Решили, что взрывное устройство. Меня на досмотр. Позвали саперов, меня под обе ручки. Потом правда до самого самолёта проводили. Я боялась заблудиться. Это был аэропорт Франфурт на майне. Но тут то не таможня, а выдача багажа.и если бы это был труп. Его бы уже при посадке на сдаче багажа изъяли.
