The fight was definitely closer than people are saying! I doubt a lot of people talking trash have even watched the fight all the way through! Thurman never truly found his rhythm and Pacquiao was catching him coming in and moving out. Manny's timing was making it too awkward for Keith. The thing with Keith Thurman is he is incredibly intelligent. He has a great boxing brain, but sometimes he allows it to make him fight too cautious. He usually picks his shots very well and fights smart, he's become more of a boxer than a KO artist that he was earlier on his career. This is why I believe a loss will be great for Thurman. He needs a loss so that he can come back a new fighter and be done with the old "One Time" persona. When you watch Keith's earlier fights, he came forward a lot more and wasn't as cautious. He took more risks and KO'd fighters, but clearly he's slowly drifted towards being more of a boxer, which actually works well because he has the intelligence for it, but in this fight he shouldn't have fought it the way he did. I honestly have always thought that Keith would do well with someone like Teddy Atlas in his corner instead of his current team. I like his current group, but sometimes it's time to change it up and I honestly saw in this fight that those guys had a part to play in the loss. Anyways, Manny fought an excellent fight, he showed he CAN still hang in there with the best of the division. I think it's disrespectful that most people were only asking if he was retiring after this fight. Clearly Manny is still capable of fighting contenders. You were correct about the way Keith fought this fight, he stood in front of a fighter who is possibly the worst fighter to stand in front of.

All of these, if you think about it are all off eye test. None of these guys even have an old Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Marquez, Bradley or Mayweather on their resume. What if all off these PBC fighters really are just mediocre, you judging a guy win over mediocre fighters. Don't get me wrong from eye test Spence and Budd are the top dawg in WW. The reason the punch stats are relevant is not to say Thurman won, but to remind folks this was a razor close fight, folks are calling the split decision unfair....excuse me? even if you look at the stats ROUND BY ROUND and factor the error of compubox you see a highly competitive fight! A fight where Thurman landed more punches on Pacquiao than anyone in 43 fights. Also Hatman, I love you perspective on boxing but you're completely overreacting here, this fight does not constitute any sort of embarrassment, with the greatest respect to you, id expect that comment from a casual, Keith Thurman fought like a warrior and had entirely too much success in the fight for you to be calling this any kind of embarrassment. Losing a 12 round competetive fight? the compubox matters, not that you score the fight based on compubox, rather the compubox is a valid indicator of how competetive a fight is and when you watch the fight you do see an absolute bevy of really clean punching by Thurman. The strategy was wrong yes but it was merely a gamble and the same way he was worn out in the second half of the fight, Pacquiao was worn out from throwing over 600 punches, Thurman fought alright.

I felt Thurman didn't do too bad. If It wasn't for the first round and the 10th when he hurt him he was always live in the fight. I actually felt Thurman done better when he was more aggressive. He just got caught when he stood in the pocket and Manny unleashed a volley of punches. Thurman has been hurt to the body numerous times now and I felt Manny hurt him with those body shots.
@dickcheney24705 жыл бұрын
I agree. Hatman is being too unkind to Thurman. Remember Manny doesn't talk a lot and Thurman had to sell the fight. After the fight Manny did not have any hard feelings to Thurman because he understands the business side of boxing. Thurman was actually winning the 1st and 10th rounds which he got caught. Manny clearly won but that thing was closer than what people are saying. Keith's corner also seemed overwhelmed by the occasion. Telling your fighter to "be smart" is not very helpful in my opinion.

Two fights in 2+1/2 years, What was Thurman thinking taking on Pacquiao. Tim Bradley believed he cud beat pac like that 2nd time round also which was stupid. I think alot of fighters gained confidence from jjm knocking pac out an beleive they cud do the same an tried to do the same.. Thurman is a big puncher.. He is a naturally much bigger guy. 10yesrs younger .. He knew pac always comes to fight an can be hit. So he fancied the job an thought he cud knock him out. I see 40year old pac beating everyone apart from spence an crawford... Who he cud beat. But wud be hard an take some thi g special. I'd make them favourites.. Cos they are potentially as good as a prime Mayweather an pac but it's there time now an they are in there primes.. Pac isn't.. But he still clearly not a million miles from it an good enuff to beat great fighters .. Garcia. Porter. Brook. Khan or whoever else he cud fight I'd favour 40plus pac majorly.. Although I can imagine Porter wud be the toughest task out of them I think thurman looked at the horn fight success an the jjm success.. Jjm moved an boxed but also stood an fourght at times also.. Horn another much bigger guy came straight at pac an shocked him a bit in the first half of fight.. Sure Mayweather beat him on the run an move all night.. But I don't think kieth is no Mayweather.. Pac beat 90percent of people on the move.. Broner been the most recent example... Algeri been another fairly recent one that comes to mind.. Thurman got caught an given a tough fight on the move with Porter etc... Thurman is a bigger guy than pac.. All this prob made him think he can beat pac Comming at him an made him think he don't have to move too much.. Ewspcialky when he got clipped an dropped on the move anyway.. He though he cud stand his ground an keep his guard up an use his superior reach to keep pac at bay.. I guess it was a disaster at times.... But at the end of the fight... He did lose but he did better against manny than almost everyone else done. Including those who moved all night... Who did better?... Jjm. Morales.. Mayweather... I'd say thurman gave manny one of his toughest fights In Recent times.. Since jjm he had two walks in the park with Bradley. Walks in the park with Rios. Algeri. Broner. Vargas. Lucas an the 2nd half of horn.. And even though he lost to Mayweather.. He will have had a worse headache an know an feel he been in a fight now than he did after chasing Mayweather for 12 rounds.. Thurman did fairly well.. I didn't expect him to win.. An same as almost everyone after how he looked with Lopez I thought pac was way more active an in the swing an he was a horrible 2nd comeback fight choice 4 thurman am cos of thurmans style at least at times.. I thought he may well get knocked out.. But he rose the occasion an showed up in good form.. Just like fury did with wilder etc... Don't think he looked a million miles away from prime thurman tbh... Good close fight though.. Thurman didn't let pac get all his own way.. But pac did get alot of his own way especially early on. An pacs success looked more impressive on the highlight reels .

beestonpoet " i remember Chris Algeri couch saying in between Rounds to the interviewer next Round Chris is gonna knock Pacquaio OUT!!!!!😆 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA your right about JJM knockout every1 believed they could do it again. Fuckin BRADLEY!!! Tried it in the second fight 😆😆😂🤣 people need to consider that on top of being a gifted pure counter puncher JJM was P4P 1 of the greatest knockout artists in Mexican boxing history 😂😂

I like your channel, however I have to disagree with you on this. Keith Thurman had success on the front foot moving in. It’s when he tried to box, where he got beat. Keith kept backing up in a line instead moving side to side.This allowed Pacman to be offensive set his tone.

Man I love your commentaries....Superve............Brilliant...............I like what you call paciquaio...a threshing machine and that if you go to him you will get cut to bits......so baffling why thurman thought he could just go in there and try and bumb rush the old man. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Keith Thurman paid the price for allowing Manny to take the fight without VADA drug testing... I knew it would go this way once I heard the news of no drug testing. Who agrees???

Nonesense, Pacman looked as good against Thurman as he has looked in recent fights.

Nah, pacman wasnt on PEDs dude gassed out in 6 rounds, man getting old. Pac's in enemy territory in Vegas everyone hates him there, doubt he could get away with anything shady while in there.

I mean it’s not the first time Thurman’s lost only officially it was, Porter was robbed when he fought him. Had the cards wider towards Pac-Man as well, he’s always been a Judge’s favourite Keith Thurman...
@kiely45615 жыл бұрын
fights that are that close aren't robberies lad, Pacquiao, Bradley 1 was a robbery, Porter vs thurman was highly competitive

Thurman is too inactive , many of the PBC fighters are and will bite them in the ass sooner or later
@j-bmash56415 жыл бұрын
Thurman is done at the top level, his legs and fast hooks were his best attributes and now he has lost them due to inactivity. Well done to pac really turned back the clock there.

J-b Mash thurman ain't done don't at elite level he is only 30 if he was 35 then he would be done just look at fury
@j-bmash56415 жыл бұрын
Jamie Bushby fury has huge advanatages in the HW, the tallest top HW and a huge reach, not to mention Fury is not a guy who relies on power or speed but Thurman does. Thurman can beat Garcia again, but Spence and Crawford beat him comfortably.
