Many ballerinas have been badly injured by that slide over the years: Harvey, Guillem, Cojocaru, Rojo, Cuthbertson... Luke Jennings even wrote an article about it suggesting the choreography should be modified.

@@MilkyWhite1 I'm pretty sure that if the alignment is even slightly off, or if the guy doesn't hold her up enough, the ballerina can jam her foot uncomfortably against the ground, then twisting it due to the momentum and her body weight

Я смотрела балет "Манон" Ковент-Гарден с Сарой Лэмб - моей самой любимой балериной Ковент-Гарден, потом несколько дней была под впечатлением. В моем городе в кино-концертном зале "Космос" была специальная программа о балетах и операх практически всех стран Мира и, пройдя 15 минут от дома, я переносилась в другой мир, я узнала много великолепных и гениальных артистов оперы и балета, я полюбила Ковент-Гарден и его гениальных танцовщиков Стивена МакРей и Сару Лэмб. В Ковент-Гарден великолепная балетная труппа. А премьер Ковент-Гарден Вячеслав Самодуров до недавнего времени был художественным руководителем балетной труппы Екатеринбургского театра оперы и балета и на базе театра создал балет европейского уровня. Надо признать, что в части балета, Россия уже не впереди планеты всей и это неудивительно ведь практически во всех театрах Мира танцуют выпускники российской балетной школы. Когда я смотрела балет "Майерлинг" со Стивеном МакРей и Сарой Лэмб, то сидевшая в соседнем кресле женщина во время антракта сказала, что она испугалась за меня, потому что ей показалось, что я не дышу и что я не отреагировала, когда она взяла мое запястье, чтобы проверить пульс, который казалось затих. А я и не слышала её прикосновение к моему запястью. Я улетела. С началом путинской преступной СВО трансляции прекратились.из-за санкций. А мне не хватает этих трансляций. Я не могу себе позволить посещать театры оперы и балета по всему Миру и эти трансляции для меня жизненно важны как глоток свежей воды для путника в пустыне. Но есть Ютуб, спасибо ему. ❤ из России, 11 октября 2024 года.

Intense portrayal and so utterly musical. Looking forward to Hayward's Vetsera debut. To me, this superb actress/dancer is the uncrowned prima ballerina of the Royal Ballet.

It's an orchestral arrangement of an art song, Ouvre tes yeux bleus, by Massenet. This ballet's music is an assortment of pieces by Massenet, my fave by far is the version of an oratorio aria for the final pdd. Just beautiful music all around and so beautifully arranged!
