A great instructional video. I've actually come across an old rhyme that helped me remember how to tie the manrope knot immensely. It goes like this. First a Wall Then a Crown Follow the Lead Then tuck down. Can't really go wrong with that. Just gotta remember that Wall knots ends with the strings going up, while the Crown knots end with them going up.

Wow! Thank you! I was actually able to follow and make what I thought was an absolutely perfect manrope knot as a stopper for a dog leash handle. Unfortunately, once it was all done & tightened, I realized I hadn't started right where my 4 strand braid ended. I managed to finish the braid & weave a fine piece of copper wire thread to hold it in place. That's ok though, that mistake is out of the way!

Can you make a manrope knot with three strands?

Never tried it. The patterns should all work for 3 strands but I'll have to find time to play with some string before I could give you a real answer!
