I don’t think this dog has ever had a bath let alone be groomed so I’m not surprised that he reacted fearful during the grooming process but the end result was great you both did a great job I am sure he will get used to being groomed and bathed eventually

Why do people buy long haired dogs if they don’t want to pay to groom them. Instead they leave them loose on the street. It is very upsetting for me. I just don’t understand people that do this. It’s so inhumane. Bless you for doing this for these dogs.

Have any of these dogs been nurtured? I think these poor dogs are stressed to begin with, then they are so matted and probably hurts when the clipper pull unintentionally. It’s just an automatic protection reflex to snarl to let you know she’s had enough….lol. She may have been hurt in the past and has trust issues? Who knows, right? You have a real gift to do your job and lots of patience.

It's great what you guys do. I watch alot of your videos. I wish more people cared for animals lije you guys. Also just a suggestion when it takes a long time to groom, could you give the dogs a break to drink and eat a bit. It also helps lessen their stress. 👍😊

As a former dog trainer, I don't think stopping when ever she throws a fit in reaction to her fear (she's very obviously very fearful - the whites of her eyes are clearly showing) is the right thing to do. I think it would be better to try and keep her safely on the table but keep the clippers going over areas you have already clipped and don't shut the clippers off until she stops struggling. Turning them off as soon as she tries or threatens to bite is inadvertently teaching her that if she fights - it stops. Teaching her it won't stop until she calms will benefit her in future trims as they will not take as long. I'm a believer in short lessons and plenty of them but I know your time is really limited and it must be done in one long marathon session. Best of luck in the new year, may it only be as bad as the best of this year...

That is true in some cases, we don't want to encourage them to react like that, but also sometimes continuing to push them is also the wrong move. Each dog is different and sometimes going slower is better. One has to learn from experience to know which is which.
