For the fireplace use netherbrick. If ghasts can't burn it, why should fire? Also, I used end stone as well, since it has a high blast resistance.

Great video! Honestly I have no idea why people are complaining about a tutorial for the rooms, I finished all the rooms using these camera angles and it was easy! Sure it took a long time but that's only because I am super detailed when it comes to getting things perfect, some of these rooms even turned out better! All these people complaining about the fire place burning down their house are noobs because every minecrafter knows to use neverrack for things like this! Plus I know you have exams which are way more important than video games, so a tutorial for the rooms would be too time consuming, by the way great mansion!:)

make sure that in your fireplace you have obsidian around the outside frame and have the fire burning on netherrack in the center

That happened to me too. I was making the bathroom and then i looked back and the lobby and part of the upstairs was burning down. i have to remake the stairs for the lobby now. Beanonaboard you should have really given us the tutorial

Under the stairs I put book blocks...then became a secret room...you press the button and the bookshelves move and then there is stairs that go down ;D

I really wish you had done the individual rooms instead of giving us screenshots with not so good angles. The bowling alley is a pain in the arse. You can pretty much do what you want with this... you should try and copy basic things though because otherwise the tutorial would become pointless. I (for example) built the main building out of light blue stained clay, and the windows out of light blue glass panes. Actually the very first time i built this i did the structure the same, but the inside looked nothing like in the tutorial. With stone floors, a soccer field on the bottom floor and seats on the second floor. Plus this one had no gardens and 5 floors (it was actually the mayors mansion so i needed space for offices).

Guys does any1 realise that when the fireplace is built you shouldn't put wood underneath. Put something else underneath!! I have tried obsidian, bedrock and nether rack all doesn't make the fire keep going forever but if you search on this (KZbin) then I bet you'll find something.
