I love Lalo so much because he's smart but super charismatic. I can't believe someone else connected the dots on this. Well done. This scene is dripping with layer upon layer of symbolism. For example, Jimmy speaking to clients on his phone symbolizes the predominance of lawyer work in his life. Nacho opening the rear passenger door represents the desire for Jimmy to enter the vehicle and take a seat. The ice cream cone on the sidewalk symbolizes the idea that ice cream is not welcome in the car. The shiny bling, ghetto music, and pistol in the car symbolizes the thug nature of its occupants. There is so much more, but I think we have enough here to keep us awake for many nights to come.

That's an older model car, so very unlikely to have had powered door locks. In addition, the older pull-up knobs to unlock it were unscrewed and removed, so this is certainly a manual door lock. Nacho reached back and opened the door using the inside handle. This means that the door wasn't locked when Saul was in there. It couldn't have been.

Never rode in a 70's or 80's model car, have you? Or an Oldsmobile? A 70's model Oldsmobile would have certainly had power locks. And the power locks of the day still used the same knobs as manual locks...just with power actuators. Nacho could open the door, let Saul in, then the driver could lock the door. Also back then, some cars allowed you to pull the interior handle to open a locked door, while some required you to use the power unlock button or lift the lock knob to unlock the door before you could open the door with the handle.

I own two cars from the 90s also definitely don’t have power locks but they are toyotas and they like to keep stuff simple so there is less stuff to break down. Lol, I just realized there’s a little "mistake" (probably) in that scene. During the ride, we can see Saul looking around in the car, and among other things he notices that the locking knobs for the rear doors are missing. This would suggest it is worrying because he can’t escape, however just a moment before we saw Nacho open the door for him from the inside, meaning the doors aren’t locked at all !

Actually not a mistake. Just because you take off the stick thing that let's a passenger manually unlock a door themselves, doesn't mean that it disables the car's central locking mechanisms. Nacho or his driver unlocked the door, and Nacho just pushed it open after that.
