I love the little laugh when she said Spooky Kids, haha. This record was a lot better than people give credit for.. I think his metalhead fans were just thrown back by how it was so much less harsh than all his previous stuff. It was great, but personally I think the stuff pre-Golden Age are his more "defining" works. Holy Wood was incredibly epic.

Manson at 8:40 in this interview says....."Because I was in a relationship where regardless of who's fault it was. I was made to feel like being me wasn't good. So I almost quit music and this record saved me." Good interview, love the make-up an the hat he's got on ;)

that's what i like about him, he pushes thought and challenges boundaries. i agree about what he said in regards to the decline of music industry and how music is becoming a mass produced commodity that is being force fed to people who may be too ignorant or brainwashed with the mass media that we are being constantly bombarded with.

I did the same thing, I mean, the first time that I heard this album I couldnt listen the sencond song, cuz it was very weird for me to heard that, to heard him like that . but after a couple of weeks, I put it back, and I listened all of it, and after I realized part of my life in this album .. Thanks for still writing and singing beautiful songs ... Thanks .

Name another musician that gives so complex and elaborate answers as Manson. It doesn`t matter what the question is, stupid or not, simple or complex, he always gives good answers, so good, that you can`t get tired of listening to him talking.

I don't know why a lot of people didn't like Eat Me, Drink Me, just because it was softer than all the rest of his albums(except for Mechanical Animals) doesn't mean it;s bad, he was just showing a more personal side of him. And it';s obvious, especially after listening to the song "Just A Car Crash Away". Amazing album

How can you not love him. I agree with the woman speaking, I listened to EMDM at first and thought... woah... But then I kept listening to it, and now I kinda like it. it's not my favourite manson album, but it is just as much art, fantastic art, as his other music.

@thehorrorkid138 Your right and to Manson's point - it shows how dumbed down people have become. Followers vs. thinkers. I'm a Catholic and LOVE Manson. He's not going to change me but he does challenge our conditioned way of thinking and to look at things (I happen to chose religion) in another way. It mass religion a profit enterprise - yes. Is there corruption everywhere - yes - are we quite backwards in some of our thoughts - yes. Good for him for pushing the limits.

The only thing that doesn't really make sense is how he said it was all crazy putting a 6 minute song at the start of the album. Considering the body of his work in its variation, i cant see a 6 minute start song being all that out there, unless its just compared to mainstream records, which isn't exactly a yard stick for amazing songwriting. i kinda wish he'd break from the verse chorus, ambient interlude chorus mould a bit and maybe explore some composition.

Yeah i was just expecting a little more from him really, he started off on an exploratory path with antichrist and mechanical animals, thenveered back to straightforward song writing. The new album really had the promise, it had a great atmosphere, but just didnt go the distance, for me.

I’m pretty sure some other artists are like that also. Honestly, I make music and I recently made an EP and listened to it at first before and after it came out. Now I just don’t listen to it because I know how it sounds. Sometimes I do feel like I need to listen. Then again I am a person who likes to grow so I don’t stay in the past or whatever.

Good point. I guess in a way it is. The thing that's different though for me is that Mechanical Animals is only half that kind of a record. The other half of it is kind of a satire on culture, fame etc (the whole "Omega and The Mechanical Animals" side to the record pretty much). Eat Me, Drink Me, on the other hand, goes full force with it being just about Manson's feelings. Sure he uses the vampire persona (just like how Mechanical Animals uses the alien persona) so there is kind of a theme/loose concept but he does it in a rawer, direct and more emotional way. That's the difference between those two albums imo ;)
