@@MrXepi default position might be off the screen, try manually inputting a position of 0 for x and y to bring it to the center and move it from there

Thanks for featuring my weak aura. Just a small correction, the only thing that there's no catch-up currency accounted for are the Treatises, every other weekly such as quests/treasures/flickers/glimmers gets into the currency count. The weak aura just automatically deduces these from the currency count to not show more kp's than the player would be able to obtain.

Hi. How do you make the WA stay visible? Use to work like a charm, but since I updated the WA, I see it having it in my weakauras, but once I close WA window, the weakaura is not visible on the screen. I tried to look into Load, Triggers, Conditions.. but cant seem to figure it out.

The patron orders are shit they are usually between 5k and 50k even for the flickers. The flicker rewards should have 95% of the mats included

Just updated the WeakAura to show those catch up Points.. I have 14 catchup points to get from Tailoring. I was on top of Tailoring every week, every day. That is the amount of points I was behind because of absurd Patron Workorders, that I had to skip.

Its good to know that you don't just flat out "lose" those orders KP. But I still regularly get patron orders for recipes I do not have or for knowledge trees I have zero points in. So it seems like it will be incredibly difficult to get fully caught up. I will often have to ignore multiple orders because they are for PVP recipes gear. I am not going to grind up 7.5k honor for 1 kp.

Thank you for doing this work for the community, Bliz really makes it hard for the average person to succeed and they really lack communication skills. I have been busting my butt doing all my profs on 13 characters and I decided this week between finishing lvling the last 4 to 80, TW, and DMF that I'm going to take the week off from crafting (minus the weekly quests and gathering prof points). Basically take a break from trying to fill every order and taking a break from farming hours every day so I can actually play the game. Now knowing this I don't feel nearly as bad, since there is some amount of catch up available. 💖

As of this week, I've started seeing more patron orders that actually have mats provided. Yesterday had one where ALL the mats were provided. Hopefully that's a sign going forward that we won't have to put up so many mats ourselves

oh boy, I see that the weakaura has been updated since I downloaded it originally. Major improvements! I had wondered how those extra gathering knowledge points worked (beyond the first 5 one-pointers and bigger one on the sixth). Now it makes sense!

On my first alt I noticed knowledge point items that weren't the normal ones I got every week on my main. I also noticed that after a certain number, usually equal to the number I'd have got if I had played from week 1, they would stop dropping. I think the system is clear enough just by playing an alt and noticing what's happens. Pattern recognition and problem solving are features of most humans, so I don't think it's hard to figure this system out after you encounter it.

You can find items to catch up your crafting professions in the disturbed earth patches all across the new zones. The same ones you get the odd globs of wax out of.

Crafting in wow is horrible, I loved the simplicity of the old crafting system. I decided to give crafting a try for the first time since wotlk with the war within and it’s just stupidly over complicated and a mess. Extra complexity does not necessarily = more fun or better.

Now I realize how much better it actually is in a lot of places. But there are still some areas of the new system that are straight-up dogshit. The patron crafting orders are trash imo. And also having to rely on others to level your profession to max is not great.

Noticed this on Tuesday when skinning. I was regularly getting +1 knowledge items beyond the 6/6 gathering knowledge points you get every week. Think I got around 30 knowledge in under an hour.

I absolutely love being able to order things and fill orders. I absolutely despise being forced to do that to level my profession. It's just so gross. Hated crafting professions in Dragonflight and still hate them now. You get to both burn gold and rely entirely on other people at the same time. I just want to level my professions for myself. I do not mind having to spend time doing it. I just don't want to rely on other people at all.

11:20 I'm not sure if it's a setting or an add-on, but when I go into Patreon Crafting orders, I only see the commission gold reward, and the others only show up when I hover the mouse over it. How do I get it to see the rest easily like you do? (Not sure if I see the reagents in that window either.) Btw, thanks a lot for this video! As someone who didn’t play in SL or DF, the new crafting system has been super confusing coming in. Like, there’s no explanations in game about how they work, and it’s required me doing tons of research online to even begin to figure it out. They need to make it easier for new/returning players. I shouldn’t HAVE to go outside the game to figure out how to get new recipes and such to level my profs.

The hidden skill system is still there in some form. I was a making a bunch of rank 1 core alloy and I was 3 skill from making rank 2. Ended up with a rank 2 core alloy randomly from like 50 crafts.

Another annoyance about the catch up orders is that so many of them require concentration. I really hate that system. It could be good but stuff costs way too much concentration.

One thing i dread about the patron system is. Sometimes i get orders that cost me around 20k just to make and the rewards are 1 bag off mats + 10 artisan acuity. That just feels terrible after u made a tailoring order for 30 artisan and 2 skillpoints for 50g

Totally! The ridiculous value of most of the crafting reagents combined with the pitiful rewards from patron orders discourages everyone but the greedy goblins. It shouldn't require monstrous gold sinks to improve your crafting.

Took me a month to figure out how to get catchup on enchanting. In order to be able to get the shimmering dust catchup items from enchanting, you first need to do treasure hunting and find both of the per week unique +1 knowledge items before the shimmering dust starts dropping.

@@TSLlol Drops from disenchanting, low chance for greens, higher chance for blues, guaranteed for epics. If you make a fresh enchanter you can probably get 45 shimmering dust from disenchanting 45 epics.

always thought I wanted my characters to have a cool profession that helps with progression and well, not having to 100% rely on drops and quests. But it’s way too time consuming for me nowadays with all the other things to do in the game. So I just have gathering professions and pick things up while doing other stuff.

Thanks for the video. I made a new enchanter last week and while leveling him with disenchanting I got 42 of Shimmering Essence. I reported it as a bug, thank god I didn’t delete them. Wonder if there will still be any money in enchanting? I noticed the last couple days the profit is dropping and it’s getting harder to sell. Least I made decent, for me, gains in the first few weeks.

yay, great we have a catch up system. friggin problem is, doing almost anything with it requires Null items, which on my server have been extremely expensive to buy, and hard to find while farming. I hate it. I'm not made of Gold, and i'm not looking to make my GAME into a 2ndary non profit job. So they took what I like form Dragonflight, did some fixes, and with NULL items just ruined it for me.

Apparently I'm 30 (!) behind in Blacksmithing but these 1 point orders SUCK. Like every time it's some insane garbage epic recipe like missing 12 Ironclaw Alloy and 6 Sanctified Alloy. I feel like even if they were all free it's still kind of ass at a rate of 1 or 2 per day. I felt like I kept up with it pretty well but at this rate I'll be "caugh up" in like 2 months.

I would prefer if Blizzard showed Catchup Mechanics ingame itself. I would love if catchup mechanics would be fair. In general I prefer to play when I got time. I still have nightmares about how awful were professions in shadowlands. Crafting 15 legendarys to upgrade quality was PAINFUL and expensive. And nobody would buy them after first weeks😢

The introduction of patron orders is a biggest problem of crafting atm. As Manthieus showed, even the problem of catch up system is largely rooted in crappiness of patron orders. 50-70k gold to fill a patron order for 1 flicker? Yeah ofc an average player can afford it right, what were you thinking about Blizzard?!
