Welcome one of Hawaii's greats and former NFL linebacker, Manti Te'o to the podcast! In this clip, he shares his college recruiting experience and the story of how he ended up signing with Notre Dame, and the rest is history. Listen in for some great stories and insight, as Manti shares his background, journey, and everything he’s learned along the way. He shares his stories from childhood up to college and playing for Notre Dame. His entire journey has shaped him tremendously as a person, especially when it comes to his mental strength and sense of self.
Growing up in Hawaii, Manti was always active in many sports. In fact, he played all of them! Manti explains how playing different sports growing up helped him to become a better football player. He agrees with the importance of trying different sports growing up to become better at the sport of your choice. While playing the sports that he wasn’t the strongest in, that’s where he has learned the most. Andrew and Manti touch on the subject that failure is where growth happens, and even as a kid, those times when you don’t succeed are the ones that lead you to the most growth.
When it comes to his success, Manti emphasizes the fact that he wouldn’t be where he is today if he didn’t have parents who instilled important qualities and characteristics in him as a child. Manti has some great stories to share here about his experience growing up and the different ways that he received encouragement and support from his parents. This is a great episode for anyone looking to be inspired by ways of furthering their children or their students on the road to success.
As a star player, one thing he started to become clear about before he even hit college was the difference between arrogance and confidence. This distinction made him a better athlete and teammate. It’s not just all about what you do, but it’s also about who you are. There have been times in his career when this distinction was challenged, especially by the opinions of others. These challenges are what led to him strengthening his sense of self and staying strong in who he truly is. Be sure to check out the full episode with Manti and all the little gems shared in this episode! hnlmovement.com/podcast/062-m...

The difference between USC's Early 2000s' dynasty and Alabama's current dynasty- USC's is basically 1/2 of an NC after the one was stripped and Alabama has had 6 in 13 years. So, when you compare the two, remember that.

USC is the much bigger brand. USC is in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world, not in the sticks of Alabama. USC was screwed over consistently by the powers that be. Crucial missed calls in Texas national championship game stole the title from us. The 2008 USC team should’ve played in the national championship game as well if it weren’t for crybaby Tebow. Not to mention the ridiculous sanctions against USC for what the SEC has done for decades. It is what it is. USC is back now baby.

USC set a standard with "DUE PROCESS" so every future kid cant get screwed without legal counsel. CFB should be thanking USC for the sacrifice they made.

@bsu-xw1ln Жыл бұрын
@@jimbo4612 Exactly. $C set a very simple standard…you cheat (like Pete and Reggie did) you will have consequences. The choices they made set the program back and ND benefited from this heavily by dominating the rivalry the past 11 years.

@@bsu-xw1ln You don't get what Due process is. " Prior to this the NCAA could do witch hunts and the kids could be punished without legal representation. Now every kid gets legal council and fundamental rights just like a regular court. The real deal was also SC AD mike Garret thumbed his nose to a corrupt NCAA infractions chairmen named Paul T Dee who was working with Nevin Shapiro to try and make Miami U relevant again. Dee went after a USC basketball player OJ MAyo who broke rules but Dee make the Bush and Mayo case one . This is not a legally expectable process, each kid must have his own justice in a separate case hearing. Dee was also so petty that he cited USC for Reggie Bush eating lobster 200 miles from campus while the Football players at USC ate chicken. Dee called this a unfair advantage and violation. A bed bought for a USC linemen by USC, Violation . The list was absurd. Dee ended up dying from a cocaine and booze related heart attack provided by Shapiro while Dee was doing one of shapiros whores. Classy NCAA chairmen. Also read about DEE as the Miami U AD and his scam ripping off the government in the largest pell grant fraud in US history

@@jimbo4612 I fully understand what Due Process is. The moral right of the story for $C and Reggie is follow the rules and the consequences won’t follow you. They received the correct punishment for their actions…it’s not rocket science.
