It was in the early 1960's when we visited my Mom's 1st cousin in our Town --Her husband was in his "music" room" listening to Christmas music , with Mantovani playing --I had never heard such glorious music without all the usual Singers --This music was conducted with passion and lots of feeling , as it should be played

Of all the Christmas albums I heard at home as a child, this one is the greatest... Elicits such emotions and nostalgia now, some 60 years later. Beautifully performed. Cannot listen without tears.

We called this the Xmas tape and it was on reel to reel. My mother saved 50 cents a week for almost two years to be able to buy the reel to reel player. This music IS Christmas for my family. My mother died three weeks ago, so this is particularly wonderful to hear now. Anything Montovani she loved.

At least six decades since I heard Mantovani's music. Still so nice to hear.Got the old crackles that my turntable had.Wonder why? The magic of yesteryear? Slower times.Probably were much better than now.We didn't have Brexit then,more the better!!!!. Progress. Ha Ha!!!

Mantovani was my introduction to classical music when my mother bought his records for me when I was in high school. Loved him then and have loved him ever cents. I played classical piano when I was younger. I’ve forgotten it all now (i’m 78.)

I was born 1965 & my 1st memory of this album was my mom dressing me as the head Angel in my kindergarten Christmas play @ Trinity Lutheran Parochial school & my Church, Hicksville, NY!! Then listening to it every year after that! Now @ 55yo, this brings me back to a time where we didn't see people for their skin color but for the light of Christ in their Hearts! It is my Christmas Prayer that we get back to this & to the true meaning of Christmas!! GOD'S BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE

I honestly didn't think I'd find this album on the internet but HERE IT IS! Of all the Christmas albums my parents used to own and play at Christmas time, THIS one was and still is my absolute favorite! I would go through all the album covers until I found "the red one" which, of course, went right up on the record player. Lol. At 68 years of age (soon to be 69), thank you so much for making it possible for people like me to be able to hear Mantovani's Christmas music once again. God Bless! :)

Reminds me of a much more simple time. I actually own the stereo version of this record, it was given to me by my great grandmother after my great grandfather died. Since then, it has become my favourite Christmas album.

This was the first album of several to always start the Christmas Eve celebrations at my parents' house for decades. Played on the beautiful Magnavox console stereo with a record changer. Great memories that remain me for life.

Don’t forget to get uo at 5:30 AM, open a bunch of cool presents, play with them for a couple hours, try to find the box of donuts under all the torn wrapping paper, get cleaned and dressed and go to church for a couple hours (seemed like it anyway), return home only to make a U-turn off to Grandma’s house for dry turkey and dirty jokes and finally home to your beloved new toys! Merry Christmas.

For me, THE definitive Christmas album growing up -- at least from 1957 - 1984, when the first Mannheim Steamroller "Fresh Aire" Christmas album came out. This LP, originally released, in mono, in 1953, was my dad's pride & joy at Christmas, and in 1957, he assembled a great component hifi system to play it on! He died in 1973, so he missed the "Fresh Aire" era completely. (He'd have preferred Monty to Chip Davis & Co., though.) No better way to start the album out than my personal favorite: The First Noel" -- except that your LP skipped (@1:35) while you were dubbing it here 😞. But thanks for posting, anyway!

Takes me back to a better time; when it wasn't all about how much money things cost, but it was a time when family time mattered and people had mutual respect for each other; and foul mouthed singers and obscene dancing wasn't even thought about.

But back then ALL the well-used albums in a home ended up warping and skipping. That's what nickles and even quarters were used for...to sit on top of the needle so a scratch wouldn't kick the needle out of the record's groove. It was just taken for granted that an album that was always used at certain times of the year wouldn't sound perfect. But it DID sound LIKE HOME! :)
