NO ! Indra is not the upama for Manas. In Ṛgveda it's recited that Indra is known through one's Māyā ( ability of the mind to construct), that itself means that Indra is the divinity beyond mind. Māyā should be according to Ṛta otherwise you will end up in false Māyā, such people will never know who Indra is.

It's not dheerga swaritam - in fact the swaritham in rig would be 1 1/2 times of yajur and lesser than dheerga swaritham of yajur. Hence their rendition was according to rig vedas without any blemishes. Thanks
