This is called "gayatri mantra". It is a hindu mantra and is considered the most powerful of all mantras that exist in hindu scriptures. Constant chanting early in the morning before sunrise or evenings (5pm to 7pm)without missing a day is supposed to make one's soul awaken over time in this lifetime. This mantra burns ones karma on the same day itself instead of carrying it over to next lifetimes (meaning everyday is a payback day for the bad deeds done knowingly/unknowingly). Also, no negative energy could ever touch you if you can chant this mantra for 108 times every single day at the same time. Abstaining from alcohol and meat is a must for reciting this mantra. You will start to see its life- changing effects after 40 days of recitation. "Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt " General meaning: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the creator, whose effulgence (divine light) illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). May this divine light illumine our intellect.
