I bought the MANTUS Anchor 8Ibs-3.6 kg. the world's best anchor No.1. Greetings from Slovenia.

I have 3 Mantus anchors. 2, 17 lb and an 8lb. These anchors are great! The commenters should check the product out before dismissing it. It works the way it is shown working. (I tested mine on my lawn... It dug in! ) I'll be changing all of my fleet over to Mantus. Good by Delta, Bruce, Danforth and all the others. Really check them out.

I have one of his anchors and love it. I especially love that I can take it apart and put in the bildge. That is very under-rated when doing a passage. I think what he is missing is why it sets so well considering it looks like the others. I think the reason is that his roll-bar is wider putting all the weight on just two points, the roll-bar and the tip giving it more bite, unlike the others that slide on the edge. That's just my guess though. I know it sets well for me.
@dude9996423 жыл бұрын
According to SV Panope's testing, I think the M1, while not the champion anchor, did have about the highest tip-to-weight ratio, so it would make sense that it digs in better than most all other anchors. Some people think rolls bars are a weak-point in an anchor, but that's just personal preference.

Anchors that set well are hard to retrieve but the very nature they set deep. So in order to retrieve an anchor tighten the rode and give it time, the ocean will break the anchor free....

Wrywest, we can certainly make a video using chain. Chain usually only improves the performance of an anchor so we wanted to show that Mantus works in the worst of conditions where others fail.

Looks very very much like the Australian made Sarca Anchor except the Sarca doesn't have the removable hoop. Not that I've thought of, or had a need to want to remove it.

sound reasonable , my danforth always holds up to a 20 ft , and releases great when i pull away from the hold

can you please explain how you would trip your anchor if jammed under a rock or submerged tree trunk. THanks
@GaskellleoCinema11 жыл бұрын
This is not a good test - you tried all the competition in 2" of water and then your own anchor in 8"... that makes all the difference. It is a well known fact that anchors will set better underwater.

Will you often them in a variety of colors (I suggest red, green, blue, sand yellow, and mahogany for starters)? I would like one in mahogany or sand yellow-- to match my paint scheme and so mud doesn't show up as bad.

Oops... My Rocna har never ever failed, and now I realise I'm actually ship wrecked on some desert island, as this test proves that none of the classic anchors used by thousands of cruising people all over the world actually hold on sand bottom... Does this mean that all the tests I made with my Rocna where it made a bite within 1/2 metre are fake?

As good a 3:28 = no good . All the others are made to use with a heavy chain and not just a rope.
@laurapitre5797 Жыл бұрын
If a Mantus sets this well without chain then it's obvious it sets easier than the rest. Chain just helps the set.

I decided NEVER to even think about buying a Mantus anchor the moment I first saw a man in shorts pulling a selection of anchors along a beach with a 10' rope. I did keep watching, but my faith in your company and product went even further downhill from there.
@dude9996423 жыл бұрын
Ok, specifically WHY do you feel that way?
@thedolphin54283 жыл бұрын
@@dude999642 Are you being facetious/sarcastic/trolling or are you trying psychoanalyse me. Jeezus Christ. Do I have to spell out exactly why a man in shorts pulling an anchor with only a rope attached along a beach of 2" water only until the tip is lucky to bite-in might look like a very dodgy kind of anchor test -- particularly when the video title says "Best Anchor All Round". Yeah right ... conclusively proven in just 4:19. It inspires little faith in the maker's intelligence or his understanding of proper anchor testing. On a general note, it never ceases to amaze me how some anchor makers bung on and on about the engineering of a bent piece of steel without obviously knowing *anything* about real boating and anchoring in varying boats and bottoms. They "test" them in such un-real conditions, just like this doofus above.

@@thedolphin5428 You assume people have their PhD in anchoring - but they don't. Again, specifically, where is this test wrong? Keep in mind people are kinda dumb - 150 million of them voted for either Biden or Trump. :-) Is his angle of pull not consistent among the different anchors, or just what? You seem to think you are an anchoring expert (you might be, I don't know...if so, show us your extensive knowledge).

@@dude999642 Oh come on. Use your own brain and google or search YT for info on anchors. Many others commented this guy is full of bullshit yet some like his anchors. It doesn't matter uniess you're about to buy an anchor. So don't waste my time. Now fuck off. Blocked.

@@thedolphin5428 I KNEW you were full of shit, that's why you couldn't, in TWO different comments, tell people what exactly they did wrong on this test. My guess is you probably work for one of the competitor anchors that got smoked here.

Actually in our experience, adding water in the equation actually makes things worse.... Spade for example can set in this location when dry but you add water and it fails to set...

Hmmm....Delta , Rocna, Original Bruce, Manson, & Genuine Danforth are all Lloyds & Rina certified.... and the Mantus is recognized by what third parties?????
@MantusMarine8 жыл бұрын
No certifications yet... but truthfully you have to see what Loyds is certifying... to be able to draw conclusion.
@dude9996423 жыл бұрын
My guess is if you test against a VIKING anchor that you'd have "a run for your money", but maybe I'm wrong. Your anchors are less expensive, so that's a good thing, and your anchors hold so well that I doubt boaters ever have much problem holding bottom (with proper chain, scope, etc.), so why spend more, I guess.
