P4P KING I live in NZ but we can’t claim Tualgi as ‘one of ours’. He was born in Samoa and moved to England as a teenager so I don’t see how we can claim him. Probably because we started pinching many of the top players from the islands years before the rest of the world cordoned on to the idea!
@NZLatic5 жыл бұрын
P4P KING I think you’re getting the wrong idea of what I was saying. I was making the point that the AB’s have been the worst culprits for taking the best pacific island players over the years even when they weren’t born in NZ which has weaken rugby in those countries. England have only followed in their tracks in recent times. I personally think that everyone should play for their own country like many Tongan players have started doing in rugby league. This will only make rugby a better and more competitive global sport. And yes, I do have a palagi name and I’m quite happy with it.

M Tuilagi fulfil’s an very important role to the England backline, which England sorely missed during the Six Nations and the South Africa tour, which is Balance. England’s backline has no heavy ball carriers, hence why Jones sticks Lawes/Itoje at 6 to fulfil Englands inadequacies. With Tuilagi in the squad England would have no real weaknesses in the backline. This would free up the 6 position to a specialist like Brad Shields, Mark Wilson, Rhodes, Robshaw. Having Tuilagi in the squad fixes two of Englands KEY weaknesses.

Exactly our point of attack will change this is why Ashton has been drafted in Ashton was amazing with Manu at 12-13 we struggled with any penetration midfield for years and Ashton was starved of ball with Barritt inside and Brown with no pace. Our forwards have been running backwards to get to our rucks and we can not retain our own ball. Even Teo if only he can get a run of games with out injury would of made a difference. I assume Farrell will be at 10 Ford as back up. So Cips was cast aside, With Cips in at 10 and Manu at 12-13 I think we would have a devastating back line in attack. Hopefully Daly at 15 as brown does not give England an outside att-acking link man. It just bothers me Jones will not try Cips at 10. Manu (fit) England will be a seriously (potentially) attacking back line. Fingers crossed England looked tired and bereft of ideas last 6 Nations. We were still only a few points behind Ireland, Scotland and France. A few decisions in the games did not go our way, we are not far off a great team. Jones should of made team changes in 2017. Bet he ran our team into the ground. Lets see if Jones can change his mindset as Farrell and Ford had no attacking threat. Why is Youngs still there he needs break and Robson needs a run from Wasps....
@kevinfrancis236 жыл бұрын
Tom Butcher Imagine a backline of (Robson/Care)-(Farrell/Cipriani)-(Tuilagi/Te’o)-(Lozowski/Joseph/Slade)with Ashton, Daly, Watson in the back three. Ashton would be so deadly, as everyone in that backline can make breaks and Ashton would be there to finish them. Cipriani and Care would be great off the bench. The main problem England have is the breakdown, Youngs in my opinion is too slow at the breakdown, which allows other teams to set their defence. If Robson started, alongside Shields, Vunipola and Curry, our breakdown should be a lot quicker.
@cocricklewood44416 жыл бұрын
And playing him like this as a one trick pony is why he so injured. Just like they did with Wilkinson. Get him to loose some weight, whuch will help him by putting less strain on repetitive injuries and work more on speed and handling.

I'm a die-hard all blacks supporter and I'm Tongan stay in Nz, but Manu one of my fav rugby player, but sad how he always has many injuries, when England always used Manu properly on the field it becomes a little nightmare for the all blacks, could imagine if he still 90% good England midfield will be very dangerous.
