Manual bus door

This type of door has been seen in school buses before.
The bus driver uses his right hand to unlock and turn the blue crank to open or close the door.
A 4-bar linkage of orange connecting rod ensures the two door panels to be opened or closed at the same time.
Red latch locks the door in the closed position.

Pink lever takes too much space. It can be shifted closer to the wall.

If you shift it closer you'll need more force to open the door. That space isn't used for anything anyway.

you can use bicycle brake wire instead of metal rod

The bicycle wire (Bowden cable) requires a spring to push the door when opening. It is not suitable for large angle rotation.
