Thinking about doing this to a 2001 prelude, any list of parts would help, if you have it somewhere. I'm in the middle of a manual swap on an e92 bmw. So i know what is needed, but i dont know much about the prelude....anything special like the tune or some computer rewiring would be helpful. On the bmw i need to tune it,delete the autocomputer by rewiring. And a new harness for the reverse to work.

The Honda automatic is really an automatically shifted manual, so they aren't bad. That's why I use them for autocross. The Prelude is especially suited to this, since it has Sportshift and engine braking. Yeah, the gears are a bit taller, but usually the time lost to power lost is made up for reducing shift time. Not because the shift are faster (they're actually pretty slow) but because they aren't needed. Accord transmissions don't have Sportshift, so they don't have significant engine braking. Generally an entire run should be done in only first gear, so the nice part of Sportshift is engine braking. Btw: get an air hammer for popping ball joints.

Sorry for the late reply! I haven't looked into any turbo work for B20a's so I'm not too sure honestly, either way it would have to be a kit with a small turbo and compact manifold as it's already pretty tight in the bay. No doubt you will need to do some custom fab work to get it all to fit nicely. Thanks for the support!

So I don't know nothing about swapping a auto into manual so the 1 question i have for now is do I have to get another motor or I can use the one I have in there and all I had to do is swap out the auto tranmission and just connect the manual part to the rest of the motor or is it you have the change the whole motor completely Thanks for the info

Hey man, no you don’t need another motor if you can get either an F series or H series manual gearbox and the rest of the manual parts you’ll be sweet. Just make sure it’s not from an SH prelude 👍🏼

What did you guys do about the crankshaft speed sensor and the VSS to get the auto cluster to work? or is it also not working haha

We left the crank speed sensor, we got a manual VSS and swapped the top of each housing since only the bottom of the auto housing fits, so it’s all working! 👍🏼

If it’s auto, I’d swap to a manual. Otherwise a h22 is a perfectly good engine to keep! Unless it has major issues I’d only swap it for another H22 since the chassis is already ready for one 👍🏼

We don’t put clutch switches in normally, so the car just starts up without the pedal depressed 👍🏼
