Take 2......it would be nice to hear the Buchla system demonstrated in a more "conventionally musical" scenario (eg Tangerine Dream soundscapes), rather than the more abundant random "anti-music" R2D2 bleeping vibe videos.

i totally get your point, there are many Buchla Demos out that do that kind of random bleeps. But the system is easily capable of more melodic approaches. And you shouldn't forget the history of the Buchla... it was conceptual developed in the 1960s to create music that doesn't follow the rules of commonly heard music. Don Buchla developed it with and for Morton Subotnick ... check his Silver Apples of the Moon and Wild Bull. I also do find that Todd creates her in this example a very musically integrated and controlled random sound.

You may enjoy Sonny Downs Quartet. He uses microtonal scales and rhythms more akin to something you’d hear in prog rock.
