I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the concept and the ease of use of the press. The video showcased the entire process, from collecting soil to testing the final product, and I found it to be very informative. The simplicity of the testing process was particularly impressive. The presenter used a simple test to determine the strength of the earth blocks, which can be easily replicated almost by anyone interested in making their own earth blocks. I appreciated how the video provided a step-by-step guide to making the blocks, making it easy for viewers to follow along and try it out for themselves. Overall, I found the video to be well-produced and informative. The presenter did an excellent job of explaining the process and demonstrating how the press works. The idea of making earth blocks is fascinating, and I can see how it could be an excellent option for building sustainable structures.

In the 1980's this was called "Rammed Earth Bricks" and done with hand operated machines.

Part of the Great Wall of China used Rammed Earth. Adding cement is a modern twist which stabilizes the material. Some countries use lime. Either way, this is an old technique.
@MyLevelheaded

interlocking blocks good earthen stabilized with lime better... it is the start of the limestone cycle...low carbon footprint, great thermal properties and slowly the earthen block with white washing will become limestone...in centuries so why not imagine building a house that gets stronger as it ages ...engineer in a hypocaust for heating in cooler zones and keep a good roof on it as well as foundation that collects rain water to cisterns so lkeeping the homes is more long term...

I know that line and cement are used in binding but also what other kinds of natural elements may we use to bind

Can you make a video of it. Are you saying replace cement with lime? Or lime washing? What's your opinion on Sorel / magnesium / Zinc Cement as water repelling direct contact with wood?

Replace at least 50% of Portland cement with lime.

Lime and cement dont mix. Lime breathes while cement absorbs water. Lime should be hydrated lime (slaked quicklime). Also, cement is not so carbon neutral.

Thank you for this very informative video!! Can this machine be used for making blocks with recycled plastic and soil? It would be a part solution to the plastic pollution problem.

There are other pressed block machines that are more automated that can be transported from site to site. They even have a conveyor belt to catch them to stack them in pallets as the machine spits them out. Whether you want a manual press, or an automated one pressed blocks are a great Idea. If I were to make one, I would make the blocks bigger. So the walls are thicker for more insulation and stability value. I used to live in an adobe home with walls that were 3 feet thick. Those walls were insulated. The only issue with those is losing most of your heat or cooling through the roof.

My 2nd question is whether the machine is sold together with the block strength testing equipment as a package? If not, I would suggest you do that because fabricating one to the standards of the designer may be a challenge in some certain parts of the world jeopardizing the outcome of the entire process. If you do sell the machine with the testing equipment, big kudos to you - Nairobi, Kenya.
