MdlT is Yoda level shit. I played in college and at 60 maintain a 4 index. I have tried every method of change trying to be “perfect” I get radically different feels and sometimes in stretches it works. When I filmed over the years on video every method looked almost the same. Therefore I truly understood my swing was my swing. Technically fairly sound and looks good but never consistent until I realized the answer lies in the stuff he teaches, not positions. Once I learned how to swing the club and put it in motion and “leave it alone” my ball striking was more consistent. Back with the hands, through with the arms, let the body react and swing the club at your target. It works. Thank You and RIP Manuel. Legend.

Been playing golf of and on for 50 years at a very average level (approx 18 hcp). After reading Manuel’s book (&Ernest Jones) and practising an arms based swing and stopped sliding the hips, my game has improved by 5 per round and continues to improve. This video sums up Manuel’s approach wonderfully Thank you so much for posting.

Best, simplest, and easiest way to swing the golf club I have ever seen or heard. “Swing the golf club back over the right shoulder( for right handers ) then swing it back over the left shoulder in one uninterrupted motion in the direction of the target”.it doesn’t get any simpler than that. No mechanics to screw you up…. Just You! if you don’t do it that way!!!!. Brilliant!!!! Thank you Manuel. RIP.

WOW! Great to see this on you tube! I had this presentation many, many years ago on VHS. Lost it on my many relocations :-(! I attended many of his teaching clinics at Moon Valley CC in the late 90, early 2000s! What changes he could make with a student in a short time. I would challenge any of the current teachers to do the same! In the sessions I had with him, he completely changed what I was trying to do! More focus on the club, less with my body. Needless to say, he improved my swing motion. I still focus on the ideas he gave me in our sessions. My only regret, I wish I would have had his expertise 20 years earlier. NO QUESTION, MANUEL AND ERNEST JONES WERE THE PREMERE TEACHERS THIS COUNTRY EVER HAD! RIP, MY FRIEND MANUEL!

I say this, after listening to other's who have been fortunate enough to be taught by Manuel. I'm very sure many would like to wind the clock back to have lessons from Manuel!!! I love his teaching method . He’s a genius his dad must’ve been a genius also. All the other instructors put so much stuff in a persons mind there’s no way a person can even make solid contact .thinking about all these different movements from the body and positions. I’m finally getting my swing back after trying all this crazy stuff for the last three or four years. It is so refreshing it makes the game fun again! Thanks

MDLT changed my game from trying to allowing. I no longer have a million thoughts over the ball. I’ve actually thought of ordering a custom golf bag and putting MDLT letters on it. To always remind myself on each shot that MDLT method is the swing on every shot.

In defense of Professionals. PGA turned down simplfied methods of doing the golf swing
@robsaxepga2 жыл бұрын
I'm a former PGA instructor. I still teach/coach from time to time because I love it. According to the instructors who teach the Jones/de la Torre system only about 10% of professionals in the US teach to be club centric. The other 90% teach body centric. I don't know how true that is but I can tell you this. From my experience, as well as from published studies on learning motor skills, what Mr de la Torre espouses is far superior. I was coached by the first authorized instructor of the Golfing Machine and I've been immersed in the "swing the clubhead" philosophy. Those two methods are in either end of the spectrum in the extreme but have similarities. Although my mind works in a technical fashion, I prefer the swing the clubhead system. It works for me and I enjoy golf more than I did before. I no longer care about what my body does because it's reacting to what my hands are doing with the club. I can't alter a reaction, I can only alter actions. Just give it a try. "Feel the clubhead weight, swing it over your trailing shoulder with your hands then swing the ENTIRE club with the arms forward to the target in one uninterrupted motion to the finish". Simple. I love it.

Doubt them for sure. But never doubt yourself. He is 100 percent correct. In my opinion the almost 600 tips that have been regurgitated in golf magazine through the years are parasites to our brains that serves to only decrease our ability to swing the club head and send our ball to the target. Cheers. Believe in yourself and once you have the correct swing as he just said: 'Let it go!"

I’m late to this teaching method , but even a single trackman session has conclusively proven to me that de la Torre’s method works. Club speed faster, low point 3” ahead, face, path and face to path all within 1deg of neutral, ball speed and smash factor up. And all I did was take the clubhead back with my hands to right shoulder, then move entire forearm , hands and club unit to left shoulder using arms ( upper arm).. no manipulation, no other swing thought. It was like someone else was doing this, it was effortless both physically and mentally and no matter how fast I swung, I finished balanced. Truly wonderful, truly simple and with the advent of technology like Trackman, I had immediate proof that this technique gave optimal impact conditions without any complicated swing thoughts, the ball just got propelled towards target. Do I have the mental strength to stick with this? Time will tell.

When you consider that 90% of golf instruction is based on moving the club by moving the body, Is it any wonder that many people quit the game or spend most of their lives learning how to swing a club rather than developing a sound swing and then learning how to just play golf!

@Alandale452 жыл бұрын
Yes
@wadepatton2433 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. We had big drivers before he passed. The clubhead still goes in the center, being larger it means the ball is a bit further forward than with a classic driver or any iron. These "ideas" have been working since the beginning of golf and taught to other golfers for nearly 100 years. I wish I'd learned these things much sooner. There's no going back.

@@ocat1979 Of course not. Now everything is measured and measurable. All swing theories can be measured for effectiveness and thrown out if proven to be ineffective or less effective. For example 'Stack n tilt' should now be referred to as 'stack and wilt'. For any given swing speed, golfers can now get the maximum efficiency and play better golf

Ernest Jones has been expounding the gospel of swing, not hit, for many, many years. I do not think the golfing world in general disagrees with Ernest. They cannot; his idea that the hands are even 90% of the game can be true, but his doctrine ends abruptly, because he does not go the step further and tell his pupils HOW to use their hands better in order to advance in their golf. I find that most of my pupils have a swing. You can go on swinging a club till you are blue in the face and never gain a yard in length unless you work on the ‘heart of the swing’ - the just-before-and-after-impact section. This cannot be glossed over.” - HENRY COTTON. Bear Back. Dunn.
