Hi Abdullah, great videos I'd like to say, learned quite a lot of things from them, thank you so much. One question regarding Costing sheet, as per my understandings of costing sheet there's 1 disadvantange, which is that costing sheet can not allocate total actual cost of cost center to other cost object(like production order), in another word there may be under absorption or over absorption after exectuting costing sheet during period end closing. It the mentioned disadvantage of costing sheet is true, how should the amount left on the credited cost center be handled? Please can you shed some light on this since it's bothering me from quite long time ago.

can you please explain how we got wages 0.5 per min, as you said rate = exp /total min (2000/7200 = 0.27)

Great explanation.. i have a question between use of SKF vs Costing sheet. Costing sheet seems to be very linear where the total cost is divided by a base to determine the fixed cost or a percentage.. in your example - a production supervisor cost.. can such costs be allocated to production cost centers lets say by SKFs like headcounts managed? So i have an overhead cost center to capture indirect salaries and then i allocate them to the production cost centers using SKFs like a ratio of the no of headcount in each prod cost center which the supervisor manages? Is SKF the right idea for such allocation methods or can Costing sheets be used as well.. i ask this because the functionality of costing sheets seems too simple for realistic use.. what do you think? Cheers!

Hi Varun, great point! The process of overhead cost allocation has 2 steps : 1- allocate the cost from different cost centers to production cost centers, this one i explained in the "Allocate costs to cost centers" video, and this can be done using SKF, or percentages as you mentioned 2- Allocate the production cost center costs to the products: through activity type prices or costing sheet and this is the step explained here

How did get 0.5 per minutes?
@AbdullahGalal4 жыл бұрын
Rate = expenses / total minutes ... but in my example I used 0.5 to make the calculation easy for the rest of the process
