Hey Anisa 😊 That’s so wonderful to hear that you understood the topic so well and now you feel better about it. Yes, trying to learn the whole format in one go is a bit challenging but there are other ways to do it. I like to break it down into pieces like I did in this video. And this can be applied to almost anything in life. Break it into pieces and do the small pieces one by one. Eventually you’ll build up something great 😊 Keep up the good work 💪🏽🧠

Also, could you please explain the 3 column dollar signs and why do you use a certain column for certain entries? I just cannot wrap my head around it.
@adapttuition4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching :) The use of the columns is simply to avoid having all the figures in a single column which could be confusing. So think of it as the right most column has the most important figures (the sub-totals and totals) and if any of those figures has a working or needs a calculation I shift one column to the left to show that working. And, if any of the figures in that "left" column need a working I shift one column to the left again.

Hi thank you so much for making it easy for me,,.my question is;carriage on finish good should you add it to the opening stock of finished good in the trading profit and loss account
@adapttuition3 жыл бұрын
Hi, if it’s carriage outwards it’s added in the expense section of the income statement. If there is carriage inwards on finished goods it’s added to purchases. But if we are manufacturing we probably won’t be buying finished goods as we are making them.

@adapttuition Жыл бұрын
Hi @onipinlaprecious3594 If there are sales and finished goods then that means an income statement is done as those items definitely do not go in the manufacturing account. The sales figure is usually first and the finished product is the inventory.

Hi, If you check out my recent videos on past paper solutions you'll find a few manufacturing account questions there :)
@trinityhamied11 ай бұрын
so when you placed return outwards in the manufacturing account, that was regarding return out for raw materials? Also if a question comes and there is just 'return outwards' is that supposed to be placed in the manufacturing account or the income statement?
@adapttuition11 ай бұрын
Hi Trinity, sorry I didn't respond to your comment in the live earlier. As regards your question re the returns outwards, yes it goes in the manufacturing account. If we are manufacturing goods, then we are not buying finished goods (usually, although this can happen). As such, it's only logical that what we are returning is the raw materials, as that is the only thing we are purchasing.

HI! You can check out my limited liability companies playlist here kzbin.info/aero/PL9u_QIMhEllscQEEadEIaFI8MsG2J2ztl regarding the reserves. They actually go in both the income statement and the balance sheet but not necessarily with the same figure. @adapttuition Жыл бұрын
Hey @moosaroma7830 Usually the question will give you the cost for WIP at start and at end. And usually I adjust for it at end by adding the value at start and deducting the value at end.

@adapttuition4 жыл бұрын
Hi! The purchases of raw materials is included in the manufacturing account. The final figure from the manufacturing account REPLACES the purchases figure in the trading account. Also, the stock of finished goods are only used in the purchases account, NOT the manufacturing account.

Hi! Thanks for watching :) Happy to know if helped you. When you say "Cash Flow Statements" are you talking at the CSEC level or the CAPE level? Because if it's the CSEC level you can check out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooGmq3eeoNhnrqM The item is actually a schedule of cash projections at the CSEC level because a cash flow statement is something very specific and is taught at the CAPE level and NOT at CSEC. How to get factory profit??
@adapttuition4 жыл бұрын
Hi, you would need to know what the transfer price is in order to calculate that. What I mean is that you would need to take the final figure in the manufacturing account (cost of goods manufactured) and compare it to the $ amount which is being "paid" for those goods being transferred. This isn't a thing on the syllabus which I teach (although there is a section that has been added recently that makes me think otherwise).
@rinteh45294 жыл бұрын
@@adapttuition okay,so say finished goods are to be transferred to the trading account at a profit of 20%on factory cost.is what i get after calculating the 20% the factory profit?
@adapttuition4 жыл бұрын
@@rinteh4529 well, you kinda gave the answer in the information there :D You said "goods are to be transferred to the trading account AT A PROFIT OF 20% on factory cost". So the 20% of the factory cost is the factory profit.

Do purchases of indirect materials also count as Indirect materials in the overhead section
@adapttuition4 жыл бұрын
You may have to do a calculation similar to the "cost of direct materials used". If it's just "purchases of indirect materials" then use the whole figure. If you have stock of indirect materials add the opening stock and minus the closing stock.

You can put those items in one column, I just prefer 2 or 3 columns. You will have to work with whatever space they make available on the question paper
