Masefield and Taliai led the Tongan Commandos to the Solomon Islands World War 2. Both were killed in action in the Solomon. Taliai is the Infantry Camp name at the Fuaámotu airport and Masefield is the Navy Base name at Touliki both in Tonga.. Taiho the Japanese aircraft carrier that led invasion to the South Pacific it was later sunk by the US in the Philippines 1944. The Japanese invasion force was turn back in the Solomon Islands and never reached Fiji or Tonga. The Tonga Home Guards sung this song saying I am tired waiting here. I guess meaning waiting for the Japanese Invasion Force.
