Ah, a man after my own heart. Good word and one that FEW are willing to deal with straight on. The truth is a joy and blessing only to those who love and rejoice in the truth as it is in our blessed Savior!

Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it".

Right! The majority of people hear the Gospel of God/Christ.

Right! This happens to me on KZbin. Whenever, I quote scripture (chapter and verse), many self-professing Christians become angry. TBH

The more I listen to you, the more I appreciate the things you teach. KZbin is not always a friendly place and, in fact, a hostile place. Christians should spend more time expounding the word and advancing the cause of our Lord and stop all of the rude banter and the Enquirer magazine like spirit and attitude that too often dominates Christian discourse these days. Continue on in good faith and be the better example for Christians to follow.

Except the Apostle John. John did not die as a martyr.

Just curious how you reconcile election with your view of God desiring the salvation of all who hear the Gospel? Since God obviously does not choose everyone how is it that he desires their salvation but does not choose to save the? That would be a contradiction is Gods own will. Im not sure if you are a Calvinist or if you identify as reformed in any way, but the view of "the well meant offer" (Gods desire of the salvation of all who he brings the gospel to, or some would say even those he doesn't) would also contradict limited atonement since Christ only dies for His chosen people therefore God would be desiring the salvation of people He doesnt atone for. Would you also say that God desires the salvation of the fallen angels, even though there is no plan of salvation for them? Curious as to where you stand.

Thanks for the question. I don't try and reconcile it. I do believe in election, and I believe that everyone who is saved was chosen, called and also drawn (john 6:44) but at the same time I do not see the character of God being one who created people with the intention of sending most to hell to be tortured forever for his own enteral glory. God will be glorified in the destruction of the wicked but clearly the will and responsibility of man is also taught along with election and God's sovereignty. I allow the tension to exist and I like what MacArthur had to say in this clip which you have probably seen - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5ykpYiJj8qWeNE They system of theology I referred to in the sermon that I rejected was hyper Calvinism.

@Pastor_Grant yes I am aware of the charge of hyper Calvinism on those who reject the well meant offer, or even the view that the gospel is an offer at all. Most reformed theologians view the Gospel as a command rather than an offer. This however is not hyper Calvinism. To say that God desires the salvation of every individual but does not accomplish it by his own omnipotent sovereign will, is to make God subjecting His will to man's will. A.W. Pink's book The Sovereignty of God addresses this very well in the first chapter. Thanks for responding. It should be stated there is a big difference between double predestination and equal ultimacy.

From Pink's Book: How different is the God of the Bible from the God of modern Christendom! The concept of Deity which prevails most widely today, even among those who profess to give heed to the Scriptures, is a miserable caricature, a blasphemous travesty of the Truth. The God of the twentieth century is a helpless, effeminate being who commands the respect of no really thoughtful man. The God of the popular mind is the creation of maudlin sentimentality. The God of many a present-day pulpit is an object of pity rather than of awe-inspiring reverence. To say that God the Father has purposed the salvation of all mankind, that God the Son died with the express intention of saving the whole human race, and that God the Holy Spirit is now seeking to win the world to Christ; when, as a matter of common observation, it is apparent that the great majority of our fellowmen are dying in sin, and passing into a hopeless eternity; is to say that God the Father is disappointed, that God the Son is dissatisfied, and that God the Holy Spirit is defeated.

@@Pastor_Grant Romans is also very clear that God creates or makes as it is stated in the LSB vessels of wrath. Romans 9:21-23 LSB [21] Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? [22] And what if God, wanting to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath having been prepared for destruction, [23] and in order that He might make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory- Proverbs 16:4 LSB [4] Yahweh has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.
