I don't understand all the negative reviews of this record. It's solid, great songs. I've been listening to it a lot since it was released. It grows on you a lot.

It's definitely stayed with me since it came out

Great pod guys. Peeling Flesh is killer, not feeling Many Eyes but gonna give me few more spins. Cheers

Solid again boys! I was thinking of who this record is for and I figured it out! Aging scene kids who are getting into adult contemporary. 😉 JK, I am happy you guys dig it! Love from the states.

Bonus riffs! Appreciated the honesty on the Many Eyes album. I've really enjoyed it but found the music to be pedestrian. I've not been blown away by Better Lovers though. I think Greg makes more interesting music on his own. Both bands need time to blossom although on paper Better Lovers have no excuse for not putting out a great album with the depth of talent they have.

I know exactly what you mean, sometimes it sounds like he's trying to fit in rather than excel in his own right, got high hopes for the album though 🤞🤞

To me Better Lovers' major misstep is keeping the production in-house. Songs like White Horse and The Flowering hint at a great band waiting to blossom, but the production is majorly holding them back. It also doesn't help to put out every first or second draft that they write. I think they should have kept the songs in the oven for just a little longer.

I like this album. The drums are good, the vocals are great, the lyrics are raw. I feel like the bass is good but the guitar is too simple. You can do the 90s grunge thing, and still do more with the guitar.
