Many loads later.. We got the goats hauled and moved to more brush and grass! 🐐🚛🌾

We haul the goats to our other farm. There’s a lot of grass there that has grown back and we figured it’d be nice to save on labor by being able to set up netting in the open fields a little bit more to save time. The goats love it and are performing well!

Do you keep your goats all year round and what is the profit center for them?

Yes they stay here on my farm year round unless they go out doing grazing projects on other land. So that’s one revenue stream. We also sell seed stock genetics for low maintenance east keeping goats that you don’t have to worm, trim hooves, or anything else that requires us to intervene with the way nature intended. We sell some direct to consumer for meat as well.

Hi, can you tell me how much your young goats weigh at 6-8 months?

We don’t typically weigh our goats at that age much but if I had to guess I’d say they’d be around for 70 lbs or so. The less handling of our goats the better. All I can say is these Spanish kids performed better for us than our Boer Kiko cross did. I believe they performed better because of the better mothering ability these Spanish goats have.
