Im disappointed in the fact all those guys did was come out and check tack. Horses do get mouth over the bit sometimes its not a sickness. This rider knew the horse was not well and should have been listened to, he obviously knows the horse well and wants whats best for him. He kept looking at his belly and was lethargic so could have been colic. I agree that armed guard did listen and was happy to help.

I watched the vid on slo-mo, enlarged it and re-ran several pieces. The Banbury on the offside is being pulled into the horses lip by the curb chain which looks to be running through the ring of the Bridoon (I was getting a bit of optical illusion on that part) I don’t want to know where the curb hook is but I spent a good while looking for it. On the nearside of course the Banbury is sticking out. Then out comes a London District Reservist to ‘help’ but does nothing more than look at it then give both bits and the curb chain a yank from the offside like that’s going to fix it. I’m seriously annoyed and I’m a Blues and Royals supporter through and through, my dad will be peeling off revolutions in his urn today. I really wish that I’d seen this at the time. 🤬🤬🤬

I know I could see that poor horse that would have been very painful my Brother David had it many years ago and it was awful . So very glad his rider got on to it

It seems to be a problem with he's mouth, normally with colic a horse will turn and look at it's stomach, or they can keep yawning which normally indicates pain. Either had a problem with he's mouth and the bit or could well haven colic starting up. Either way really bad that the horse wasn't taken in and checked by a vet. That's the problem when others think they know more than the one who cares for the horse day in and out. 😒😒

The horse needs to have the day off. You can tell the guard knows something's amiss. Maybe the horse isn't getting well.

The horse needs someone to sort out his bits, they’re wrong and most horses would’ve really kicked off by now.

@@j.ksmith7432 I agree, there is definitely something wrong with the bits, that much is obvious and it was obvious to the guard as well. The Corporal of Horses ( don’t know if this is the right terminology) understood that and gave the guard instructions, it wasn’t as bad then, but I’m sure the horse’s mouth was sore for awhile. That horse was such a gentle soul through the ordeal, he could have easily acted badly, but he didn’t.

It's not an emergency buzzer it's a call button that connects to the Guards room , Corporal of Horse came out and checked , he was clearly satisfied that nothing was wrong or he would have returned the horse to the stables .

Much as it grieves me I have to disagree with you on this one ( not about the damned ‘DRAMA BUTTON’ mind you! 😂) I watched a lot of the vid on slo-mo, enlarged and reran some parts several times. You know I rarely say anything detrimental to the HCMR in general or The Blues in particular but I’m unamused right now.

@@kathellison8084 I’m not that clued up on bits tbh, it’s more my daughters department but with having the tack shop I’ve learnt some! I don’t know much about computers either but because of my disability I’ve had to find a way around some of the problems and figuring out why the amateur drama mongers constantly complain about the horses bits led me to forensically digesting videos!! 😂😂 It doesn’t work on all vids on YT but when it works it’s a real help, I’ve run off 21 pics of this particular session! I guess you know that to enlarge the ‘normal’ vid to a full page you just tap (tablet) or highlight (laptop etc) the strange little + in the bottom right-hand corner of the vid? To enlarge it further (and I only know this part on an iPad!) just tap the picture anywhere and use your thumb and forefinger to ‘spread’ the part of the pic you want. Next, go to the icon in the top right-hand corner that looks like a cross between a flower and a cog! Tap on that and a box of choices comes up, go to ‘Playback Speed’ and tap on it, that brings up a list of sizes with a tick next to ‘normal’ if you want to slow the speed scroll up until you get what you want, I put it on 0.2x because that’s slowest. Word of warning, you may want to mute the soundtrack because it’s weird in slo-mo! See how you get on with that and see if you get the same results as I did! Obviously things go wrong sometimes but that is why there is an inspection and why they have the call button, one of my concerns having watched this is how much the London City bods know? If they don’t know much then it’s pointless sending them out imo Edit. Forgot to ask, what is this business about what you can and can’t post? As for the dramatic title, it couldn’t be much worse and yes, I dislike it also. For starters the Trooper didn’t ‘Smash’ anything. Secondly, they’re not the ‘King’s Guard’ they’re the five foot regiments, the two mounted regiments are the ‘King’s Life Guard!’ Lastly there is no such thing as the ‘EMERGENCY BUTTON’ it’s a ‘give us a hand when you get a minute’ button, for all else there’s CCTV!!! 😂 The only thing I agree with just this once and only in lower case is the ‘poor horse!!’ 😂😂😂 EDIT 2!! What on earth is the point in having the dam bell for emergency it takes the soldier for ever to waddle out look at the horse then sods offffff doing nothing to help the horse or the guard ,so your belllllll is pointless

For the twenty thousandth time of saying there is NO emergency bell, buzzer, button or magic carpet. There’s a ‘give us a hand mate when you get a mo’ button which will, when convenient, fetch another Trooper, a London District Reservist or maybe the CoH, if you want to place blame try the CCTV monitor.

I'd say that it's time to get some major upgrades for the horses and the rider's safety!!!! I'm so glad they have the cops in their that help them too!!!! I think a few other things need an upgrade to. PROTECTION for the rider's and the horses so they don't get spooked from everyone touching them all the time. Aren't there noses really sensitive to smells ??? Horse people that's what I remember growing up. My sister had an Appaloosa mare I still think about her she was very gentle I could ride her with nothing on in the yard when she would stop eating the yard grass. And she had an Arabian male I never got on him. Lol.

At least the police officer kept checking on them. Horse was mouthing his bit aloy ppl t more than normal. So guessing upset tummy or something. Unfortunately, horses can't throw up, if something is bothering their stomach is bothering them.

Not surprising the horse catch stuff with all the hundreds of people pawing and rubbing and breathing all over them! Imagine if a tourist had to put up with that! The least they can do is make sure the damn button works!!

Unless the touron has some form of Zoonoses there is no chance of them passing on anything TO the horse, however, when it comes to the horse passing on a Zoonoses TO the touron, well, that’s a different story!! 😂😂

They should be ashamed of the fact that they treated that horse so poorly. He kept telling them that something was wrong and they wouldn't listen. Needs to be handled better in the future. If they can't take proper care of the horses, then they need to stop doing their little show.

There are no horses more cosseted than the guards horses. Their stables have been described as 4 star hotels for horses. The horses are sometimes just not wanting to work as in being in the box. But they lead them around and make 3 or so tries because if they ended the work hour when the horse acts up it will learn that acting up always works to go back to the stable. They are not forced to work because a 1,700 lb. Horse is actually in charge. No matter what.
