How old were you when you were in Manzanar? You must have been very young, because my mother was 16 in 1942 and she is now 95.

Saburo Sasaki was born in 1934. He was about 8 when he entered Manzanar and about 13 when he left.

@@manzanarnps7539Now my mom at 97 can remember just a few things. Getting to that age where her memory is very poor. There are not many people who can now recall much. When my dad was still alive, his recollection of Manzanar was very good. I was very fortunate to take him there while his mind was still sharp and listen to his stories. His fire truck is still there. My mother's family also knew Mr. Kado, very well. He built a japanese garden and pond for them in the SFV. Mr. Kado is now buried by the grotto at Holly Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
