It's is strange that you can not look at Mao's full performance of Vancouver Olympics Free Program. Everything got either deleted or edited. They put the complete video of Pairs, Ice Dancing, Men's... Ladies SP, but not the Free. I smells fishy.

I know this is an old comment, but you are right it smells fishy. Someone else has uploaded a video of her free skate kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnfOd5Spf5t4jpI make sure to pay pay close attention between 3:21 - 3:30 ish in the video. It happens so fast it looks like she loses her footing but she doesn't. The ice was messed up, like a big chunk she skated into causing her to mess up right before her jump combination. They dont want that scrutinized in HD. I have never seen anything like it, and IMHO it would have warranted a second skate. But its long over with now. Love Mao still.

@@LaurenThompsonIsMyRealName I always thought this aswell! Very suspicious. I think Mao or her coaches didn't opt for a second skate because there was hesitance about if she could hit the two 3A's again. Also, the only mistakes she made in her FS were an underrotated Flip and a 1T instead of a 3T. This cost her around 7 points from her TES. But, she had skated after Yuna and knew that Yuna was ahead of her by 23 points. Maybe she and her coaches didn't see her gaining 23 points and thought it best to just stick with it.

Those years where PCS was rated higher than tech scores. Mao had it all during that time. But mild error may be costly on the PCS scores. But I salute her for her courage to try extra ordinary skills. She will always be one of my favourite figure skaters. While I saw Yuna getting more stable with error less jumps and improved PCS.

her fake 'triple axel' is not real a triple axel jump, you guys should watch her feet in slow motion.

triple axel is spinning 3.5 rounds in the air but she rubs her skate on ice for 0.5 round and only spins 3 rounds in the air. all the time. she learned to cheat. spinning 3 times in the air is just like triple lutz salchow loops etc. anybody can do it, yet, she pretends like she's so great.

you are false, she lands it greatly, even she makes a mistake and turns with only 3 , without .5 it is still great because no one can do it , even 3. and it is harder than lutz or salchow and don't be so jealous , ok? Mao is one of the greatest skaters of the history of Ice-Skating so your words don't mean anything ;) ;) ;)

sjunheezip2 You clearly don't skate. Axel is harder because of forward outside edge (FOE) takeoff. Backwards jumps are easier since you have your weight distribution to keep you balanced. Clearly, the ISU has defined the difficult of the all the triple jumps (3A = 8.5 points, 3Lz = 6.0 points). You also never complete the full 100% rotation of ANY jump in the air, you would land backwards with no edge and fall down.

She is graceful but if you have the whole nation expecting you to win and you have been waiting since 2006 (not eligible due to age gap of 2 months), nerves just took it on her while Yuna managed it better. Try check back her earlier and after performances. You may like her better.
