Смотрю в 2024 году и не перестаю восхищаться пластикой, грацией, чистыми линиями этой замечательной фигуристки! Никто не затмит яркий образ этой фигуристки в истории фигурного катания! Мао Асада - уникальная!

Anyone tells me why Koreans insist on dropping defamatory comments at almost every single one of Mao Asada’s skating program video’s comment section, babbling about how she is inferior to Yuna? Koreans’ hatred towards Mao Asada last even longer than their love to Yuna Kim. I’d suggest you guys take such nitpicking attitude on your own life, thank you.

They are so concerned about Mao Asada. When Asada and Arakawa talked about their memories of the difficult times in the year before the Vancouver Olympics in an interview, the official Korean news put out Kim and expanded the story to say that Asada suffered because Kim was the top (Asada wanted to say that she had been suffering from the lack of rankings due to jump errors and missing rotations taken since then). This video has been viewed 900,000 times in Korean. If Kim talks about Mao's Olympics, the official Japanese news will probably ignore it. Her marriage report also made news in Japan, but it did not get 10,000 views even after a month (now it gets about 20,000 views with more Korean comments for some reason).

I just love everything about mao, she just blows me away everytime I watch her without adoubt the BEST SKATER IN THE WORLD, she just has the hole package her spirals are so beautifully extended, her stepsequences are so hard and fast, her jumping ability is just incredible, her jumps are always solid and smooth and feels so light. She just has everything pro need, and knows how to deliever remarkable performance.

You think she was the best as a whole when technically she couldn’t perform a lutz for half of her career? She is indeed my favorite skater artistically, but is not the best fully.
@psychstudentrip3 жыл бұрын
@@kiodoiii8794 yea no that’s not how Lutz jumps work technically. A skater being strong at a Lutz edge or a flip edge is usually a natural thing. Skaters don’t decide they want to jump on the wrong edge when they’re learning the jump, it’s like that because that’s just how their bodies are wired. And yes, you can train to counteract your foot naturally leaning on the wrong edge, but it takes a really long time, requires a lot of hard work, and it still can be hard to land consistently. It doesn’t mean they’ve never landed a Lutz jump if they’re on the wrong edge :|
@tinatina01223 жыл бұрын
@@psychstudentrip yeah no. A lutz must be performed on an outside edge or it’s not a lutz. The point of a lutz is the counter rotation in the jump, and if the take off is from an inside edge, there is no counter rotation, as the skater takes off from the same direction they rotate in. It’s true that for most skaters, there is a natural inclination towards the flip or lutz, but that doesn’t change anything in regards to the rules.

Some of y'all pitting the Queens against each other? And I see it on Mao Monday????? Anyway I've been looking at a lot of skaters' programs from junior to senior (focused on the JPN and KOR ladies tho). It's really nice to see how they improve over the years especially in terms of performance

I am really fed up. I like Mao and whenever I go to watch Mao's videos, Kim's fans are always making noise. I thought it would be the same with Kim's videos, but strangely enough, there are almost none. At least in Kim's videos, there are no worse comments than here. Mao is still skating now that she has retired and is incorporating elements of pairs and ice dance in her ice shows. She is still improving!

nice. she should have just gone for the double axel first time though

Why did she use this song again in Olympics for her short program. Is it even allowed?
@psychstudentrip3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s allowed. A lot of skaters (and yes other skaters exist if you didn’t realize) will sometimes use the same music/program in back to back seasons. Yuko Kavaguti/Alexander Smirnov reused their Clair De Lune free skate I believe 4 seasons in a row, and they were one of the main medal contenders at international competitions about 5-6 years back. There is nothing in the rule book that says you can’t reuse music.

Lucas ... Mao has far more expression than Kim .. Kim is simply more beautiful face-wise .. and watch Kim simply pose several times during her routines .. so effin what .. that is not showing expression .. unless it is done with the entire body as Mao does so wonderfully

joyis9638 lol Mao has far more expression than Kim..... I wonder if you are blind. Everyone including Japanse commentators agrees that Kim has more confidence and expressiveness. Have you ever watched James Bond Medley or Danse Macabre?

I agree. Mao can tell if a spiral is a "Masquerade" or a "Bell" even if he doesn't hear the music and is in practice clothes. Kim cannot.
@지니-k9k8 жыл бұрын
She lacks face expressions and her performance doesn't match the music perfectly. Also I think her skating speed is rather slow. That's why Kim is called the Queen

Yuna is queen for sure but if u really believe face expression is important elements for figure skating rather than her absolute stunning 3A, hardest step sequence, beautiful spins. I think u should watch figure skating more. I hope u can truly enjoy beautiful skaters beside Yuna
@kiodoiii87945 жыл бұрын
timepickle Well, it’s true. It’s about development though. In my opinion, Mao’s later programs are ten times better than Yunas later programs. Mao is my favorite skater artistically, but honestly, in terms of artistry and technical consistency, Yuna was truly the best figure skater of the time.
