Congrats Mao! You are incredible. Don't worry about the fall- it looked like it hurt though 😢. Either way you got right up and served a flawless routine the whole way after.

Beautiful, graceful, talented and fearless plus she has that X factor, and she's only gonna get better. U R looking at the future of ladies skating here folks.
Triple flip-double axel-double axel and triple salchow-triple toelop maybe better to maximize score

that monster of a coach is going to ensure that her career dies by the time she’s eligible for seniors. the rules need to change to protect children. mao is insanely talented and deserves someone who will nurture her talent, not use her for medals and throw her away once her body finally gives out from the abuse that woman puts her through.

who?

@@jesuslover2468 Mie Hamada. recently accused of dragging a child on the ice by her ponytail because she wasn’t landing her jump properly. she’s like the japanese version of eteri tutberidze.

@@fsc4823 interesting, she always seemed so supportive especially before the skater gets ready to perform and during kiss and cry

@@jesuslover2468i think it’s important to remember that these people are representatives of their country on an international stage. they are going to display the best of themselves. i think reports of abuse are more founded than our interpretations of her behavior on tv. also, she can be supportive of her skaters and their career and still be abusive in how she brings out results. on top of this, i just worry about any coach that’s pushing quads on a little girl who potentially has so much time left in her career. if she’s doing them properly and based on strength rather than weight, that’s good! it’s just something we haven’t seen in the womens field yet. russian little girls are taught quads based on starving themselves and twisting early in the takeoff which is damaging to your back muscles and nerves, and the bad technique on takeoff makes it a cheated quad with half or even a full rotation done before leaving the ice. mao’s technique isn’t as bad, but i just worry what quad training can do to these children after the horror stories we here coming out of russia. zhenya didn’t even train quads and her training was so severe she had to get the nerves in her back surgically removed. this sport can be barbaric in its demands and politics. mie hamada brings out incredible skaters that are technically and artistically stunning to watch, i just know the sport too well to have confidence that she isn’t part of the toxicity especially after some of the reports we’ve heard coming out of her training facility. Mao seems to be doing very well! I’m very happy for her and i hope i am proved wrong and she makes it to seniors with this technical layout.
