My family are part of the Temagami First Nations where the old growth white forest of Ontario are still standing. I have a great picture of my grandmother protesting and being taken away by the police because they were trying to stop the logging of the old growth. Red Squirrel Road was where it happened.

I've watched these series as they come across my youtube shorts feed, but I'm really happy you released the compilation! As for regions to do next, you should do South Africa, we have some visually spectacular woods that have a multitude of other uses

You should do Australia next, and while we don't have official state/territory trees (we have state/territory flowers/plants instead), Australia still has a large plethora of awesome tress, despite the fact that 70% of Australia is considered Arid/Semi-Arid. New South Wales (my home state): Sydney Red Gum Tree Queensland: Daintree Pine Tree Victoria: Black Wattle Tree South Australia: Ridged-Fruit Mallee Tree Western Australia: Nuytsia or Western Australian Christmas Tree Tasmania: Tasmanian Blue Gum Tree (the state's official plant/flower) Northern Territory: Ghost Gum Tree Australian Capital Territory (ACT): Apple Box Tree Obviously, it could be a massive challenge to source all of these tree woods, but if you can make it work, then that'd be awesome. Keep up the good work, my friend

Absolutely incredible. These map projects are some of my favourite on the channel and I think you pull off the idea really well! Great job! I think New Zealand would be a great choice for the next map, because it has 17 diverse regions and some of the most unique tree species on the planet. It would be a dream come true to have you make a tree map of my country.

I know this is an extremely weird compliment, but I'm really, really glad you format the scientific names correctly! For anyone unaware, the correct way to write the scientific/latin name of any species is to capitalize the first word (the genus) but not the second one (the species/specific epithet). Then the whole thing should be italicized or underlined. I know it's a weird hill to die on, but it bothers me to see it done wrong because it was drilled so aggressively into my head in college. I often see science educators mess it up, which is just wild to me. Ironically, the prof who drilled the formatting so hard taught tree and shrub ID, I'm sure she'd love this video!

I’m late to the party AND I’m embarrassed to admit I did not know that my province’s official tree is the yellow birch… Even worse, we just had our floors redone… in yellow birch. Although in my defence its colloquial name in Québec is « merisier » and not « bouleau jaune », its official name. Just discovering this series, its fantastic!!! Belated kudos!

Awesome work and I actually felt like I was in class, learning stuff...that was a whole lot of fun TY very much...Happy New Year--what tree is used most to celebrate the New Year, I wonder? My gut reaction for a future map, not knowing if they have state/province trees, is Germany, Spain, or China. All three have distinctive divisions, both geometrically and culturally. China also spans a large area, which should mean a diverse set of trees. I would say Brazil for the same reasons, but I can't imagine that would be morally ok.
