Ktuner is trash. It’s buggy as hell. You have to reflash your car multiple times before the tune will take and ktuner has no desire to fix this issue according to the email responses I’ve received from them about it. If your going to track your car, like streets of willow for example, get the koyorad radiator and get a mishimoto coolant catch can. The factory system dumps your coolant to the street. For the clutch save yourself the headaches you will get from clutchmasters and spec and drop the money into the type r retro kit. The E85 flex kit is an absolute must get. Just order a set of new injectors because eventually you will have injector issues and you will notice it by jumping afr.

Awesome video, so much great information. What kind of clutch kit would you suggest for stage 1 or 1.5 tunes? Are there any specialized tools you need for an install without a shop? And if I already have a cat-back exhaust, will installing a front and downpipe make the car louder?

Your straight to run those parts, only when upgrading the turbo or adding auxiliary fuel do you truly need a custom tune, but they always help ofc
@oopaiyx6x3 жыл бұрын
I have the same mods, different brands. On TSP stage 1+. The preference is yours. You can stay where you're at or get it tuned specifically for your mods via e tuned or locally. The next time you'll need a tune for sure is adding flex fuel or a bigger turbo. FMIC does not require tuning, however the Race Maf does. That's why the company asks which Maf you have. The downpipe however, high flow catted may cause CEL but can be "deleted" through ktuner so you don't have the dash light.

Can I do this with a CVT transmission instead of Manuel ?
@maperformance2 жыл бұрын
The CVT is considerably weaker than the manual, with a max torque capacity of about 350ft-lbs

Hmm increase power...replace brake pads, clutch, throw in a intercooler....but not the discs!? This isn't the way to go! this is your advise ?? to not be able to stop safely!
@maperformance2 жыл бұрын
Brake discs have less to do with braking performance than pads! Slotted and drilled rotors are a viable upgrade, but not necessary on a street car.

that 1.5 can barely hold 350whp let alone 500+.. I work at Honda and we have seen SOOO many issues just from full bolts on and tune.. Pretty much everything from head and block issues, to overheating turbo issues, and also some drivetrain and transmission issues. In all reality, to push this chassis to like 500whp and have it be any form of reliable, you are gonna have to spend a small fortune. Let not forget none of the price in the vid include labor which is usually always MORE than parts. Performance shops avg at least $100/hr for labor.
@maperformance3 жыл бұрын
Valid points! We just want to give customers an idea of how much parts alone would cost to make certain power levels! DIY is definitely the way to go if you don't want to spend thousands on installs!

No one wants to talk about this. They suck so bad I stopped building these l15s at my shop. I can't let someone spend this type of money for such a shit result. They are nothing but problems. I plan on making a break down video on the block next time a blown one comes into my shop

@@Alexbuilt would love to see it! At my dealer we are not allowed to film! And I could get fired if we show the car in a bad light! No one can take any constructive criticism anymore and all people do anymore is hide the issues and problems

You really have to be a Honda lover to be wasting that type of money to just make basic power number lol I own a 09 335i N54 manual FOB tuned on E85 blend and my car makes close 500 to the wheels and all I spend was 3k on mods with clutch 😅
