Bert was inconsistent start of the season as Keefe scrambled the lines way too much. Same as for some other players like Domi, Knies being thrown around etc. etc. Let players gel, cook or whatever you want to call it and be a smarter coach. The D also had these problems. They need a smarter coach who’s diligent and patient with a clear plan. Not saying Keefe is all bad but his M.O. has not fit the script for too long now.

What exactly did Keefe do? It was the exact same line up, including goalie, as game 1. It was the players stepping up, not his coaching. Keefe still doesn't know what he's doing. He throws players together and hopes. If it doesn't work, he'll do it again and again.

This is why you keep that line you got Domi and Bertuzzi digging in and going in the trenches which pushes Matthews. And none are scared to put their body on the line to take or make a hit! As a non-analyst for TSN 😉, I liked Samsonov’s save when he covered the top left side of the net which in turn blocked a goal by Boston. Maybe Wed.’s morning practice could include a drill going from the left to the right of the net with Matthew’s attempting to score in the upper corners 🤷🏻‍♀️

Starting to wonder what Matthews stats would be if he was on PK from his rookie year. Marner has been invisible the first two games of this series as well as both series last season. Matthews dragged the leafs past Tampa last year and nearly through all those OT games against the Panthers This is MATTHEWS team everyone else is just playing on it.

Marner had a good game. Not sure what you are talking about. Although it didn't count, he setup Bertuzzi 's goal. Made several key penalty kill plays. His ankle isn't 100 percent but he is there doing his part.
