Today we talk about the infamous Frenzy Totem. Owning one of these will make you a god amongst men. The Frenzy Totem will provide you with wealth, fame, power and ANYTHING else you would want. But really though an item that can enhance spawn rates of monsters? Seriously, who the hell came up with this Overpowered Item.

Frenzy totem was not a mistake in my opinion. This idea inherently was fine, but the REMOVAL of all versions of totems and not making it accessible at some form of tax. This spiked the value of this item because essentially. They just blocked off 4 times your income because not only has the maximum spawn number of mobs increased, but the rate at which they spawn is faster as well. They also discounted upgrading gear by 20% TWO seperate times. This MASSIVE currency buff to upgrades while tanking a MASSIVE nerf to income WITHOUT actually getting the MASSIVE nerf to income ofc what i love to call, the nexon classic. In my opinion maybe im an idiot. But all they really had to do was make the totems in the reward shop varied durations. 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour etc. Allow you to buy them individually or in stacks for casuals or sweats 1 at a time or 5-10 at a time. Then charge a meso tax based on how much you could aquire in that time. For example if a 1 hour totem you could farm 1.4bil lets charge a 10% tax 140mil per 1 hour totem (not accurate to real game but you get my point). This would still maintain high value because you would never have the tax on frenzy totem but everyone still has access just not for free like the ones who got lucky on the gacha.

So here is the part that makes no sense you spend money to purchase a in game item by spending money that totem becomes YOUR property, yet the rules of the game say you can't do real world transaction it's like buying a house from someone then being told you can't sell that house after you have bought it.

Actually there's a way to fix it but i guess Nexon just doesn't wants to. If they could just change it to something that would only work if you're in the map, I guess it would kinda "fix" it since it is limited and I guess those who already possess 1 would most prolly be quite high level, maybe even near the level 300 limit, making them unable to abuse it that much and yet keeping it's original function. Well it will definitely make Totem service stupidly expensive but those who already have it couldn't abuse it that much since they cannot sell it to 50 people at once and its kinda like "removed" since most people wouldn't buy a service as its too expensive, and those who have will still have it, making everyone kind of the same :x But knowing Nexon, they will just leave it as it is so the whale community could be happy 🤷‍♀

my prediction is there will be an update that breaks the skill then nexon will be like oh we dont know what happened our speggetti code oh no guess the skill no longer works but the item still exists then later on their will be a jett anouncement saying its too much trouble and silently delete the item entirely in a server maitenence people will be mad some will theaten to quit but ultimately nothing will be lost besides maybe a few whales who get pissed off then nexon will be like lul why did you spend so much money on an in game item wahts wrong with you laughing crying emoji people wont take it well people will shit on nexon as the bad company it is but just a another thing nexon will shrug off i imagine this will happen around a new class release maybe even a revamp @bt but just my prediction cheers for reading this far

This video sums up exactly why Maplestory is horrible now. Big bang and the introduction of p2w stuff like cubes and totems completely ruined the core values of the game that made it so special. I logged on today, and tried to talk to over 100 people, and not one person responded. They were too busy dumping their entire paycheck into something to give them 10 more damage. So sad to see.

Before you guys think that frenzy service is a "license to print free money" I want you to know that its not that easy. There are serious requirements in order to be able to make actual profit. 1st is to be consistent, every day at least 6 hours. The more the better. 2nd: while this time you have to be on alert every minute in order to quickly respond to your costumers. Its pretty much like an actual job, where you have to please your costumers in order to make a decent profit. On least populated servers it can be even more hard. I have to mention that above 20 buyers it will become really hard to sell svc, some of the sellers I know will just not accept more when they reached their limit. Imagine just casting for hours while you bound to a pc. So guys you should rethink that frenzy is free money :)

I disagree, this would be a lot easier than most. I have sold lots of gaming services on the internet, mostly on ebay. Most of those games, like when I sold runes in elden ring required me to constantly talk and explain to the customer, as well as having to play the game. I didn't have much time to put my attention elsewhere. when in this sense with customers, all you really need to do once you get them and you in the game is hit a button every so often. Though Regardless of what job you have in this world you're most likely going to need to use basic communication skills regardless, so I just don't see how communication and planning with customers would make this a bad or hard thing to do at all. I do want to point out though, nothing in this world is free and this isn't free money, you have to work for it like anywhere else. This just seems a lot more manageable than it's put out to be.
