Okay this might sound wierd but I fell in love with this recording and then found the Yeah Yeah Yeahs original. The effect was that all the tension of their strangely out of tunedness of the two voices together was finally resolved for me by Karen O's magnificent performance of her song. Anyway it is almost unsingable except by her but the cool thing is that AF would do it anyway cause they love the song.

The one thing ppl need to realize is that ninety nine times out of a hundred the cover versions will never be better than original, so it is pointless to always keep saying so. But I think it is a great compliment when one band covers another. The YYY are awsome and I only wish more great bands would cover them and spread their music around.

I think I'm just used to hearing Karen O croon this song out, and to hear them actually singing it out....sounds odd, but not bad. There are times, however, where it sounds a little off

The two versions are just different. One isn't better than the other. Having said that I do like the extra sense of fragility Arcade Fire bring to this song. Like one of those parcels that say FRAGILE but in this case it's a song or maybe a heart.

I like this, but it can never be as good as the original. I agree that it sounds too electronic, and the voclas are not strong enough for it, but it adds something new to the song i think.

I love arcade fire (and I love the YYY original), but I think AF approached it from the wrong direction, so it sounds kinda odd. I think if they had approached it more like their "Haiti" it could have been a lot better.

Haven't heard the original, might look it up in a bit, but I do like this one. Not as moving as other arcade fire songs, but it's still a good rarity. They can't all be amazing, but I think this is far from bad.

i like it, i wouldnt call it boring its just a different song. and you've got to remember the chick from the yeah yeah yeahs is a girl, and has extremely high voice, so they're doing a pretty good job copying it.

This was done live, I think in the BBC Studios during a radio show of some sort. I think it's a good cover, it starts off slow, which is typical for Arcade Fire. The integrity of the song is kept in this performance and that is what matters. They are not the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so they will never perform this song the best.

I think they should have maybe sung the whole thing together. The parts they were singing together were mind blowing. Régine Chassagne's voice sounds breakable and Karen O's voice sounds like she's a tough girl giving in (maybe already broken). It's a good enough cover but fails miserably at living up to the original.

I think the music is stunning, very pretty. However, I find the performance a bit weak. Besides the fact that I didn't like the dual vocalists, I found their cover to be the kind of song you sing after the relationship is over, when you're moping to yourself before your friend tries to snap you out of it. In the original, it's those last few minutes, that man is walking about the door and she is fighting with every emotion she has, which I think makes for a more powerful song. Again, my take.

The singer doing Karen O's part tries hard, but Mother Nature just didn''t bestow the golden vocal pipes on her that she did on Karen! And the guy singing harmony is even worse, and adds less-than-nothing. They should have made it a purely instrumental version with no vocals at all! Either that or invite Karen herself to be guest star vocalist!
