MAPS Perak is OPEN!

Asia’s First Animation Theme Park’, MAPS has finally opened its doors to the public yesterday! (Soft launch)
The long awaited theme park was definitely worth the wait with over seven thousand entries on the first day itself!
strategically located in Ipoh, the capital of the northern Malaysian state of Perak. The Park is built across 52 acres of land at a cost of more than RM 520 million and is expected to welcome 1 million guests within the first year of its opening!
As you make you way into MAPS, you will walk into a street full of colour-pop buildings, the main attraction at the zone and it is also the pride of Malaysia and be greeted by the Dream Parade at the Animation Square Zone, a gathering of all animation characters by MAPS.

i find it insane how seemingly major theme parks like this, wonderland eurasia, stargate, and the like are so unsuccessful and end up abandoned. even motiongate, which had all these sony and dreamworks ips attached to it, was unsuccessful to begin with.

Izzat Amir I went there. Only a few zones opened but they are pretty good. It is a good start for Malaysian animation park since local animation Boboiboy attracts visitors. More zones to be opened soon. I heard Upin Ipin also planning to open a theme park in Sepang.

they should not charge customers with full price when some of the zones are still not open yet.. that is like a scam. the ticket is ssoooo damn expensive that even sunway lagoon is cheaper. what makes this theme park so expensive? its so far away for people from selangor to reach. and the theme park is mostly aimed for kids. if adults were to go into this theme park, what can they play with RM130-190 ticket price? is it even worth it?

Izzat Amir I agree the tickets are expensive. They gave a good deal when I purchased the one day pass they gave me another free ticket. It is like a "buy one free one".
