You can also multiply your cm for distance by 0.5 for 1:50 000 and by 0.1 for 1:10 000 to get km instead of multiplying it by 50 000 and dividing by 100 000.

Hi, remember that you had to convert 20 minutes to a fraction of an hour = 0.3 repeating (0.33333333333333... ). Then 120km/h x 0.3 repeating = 40 km. Hope this makes sense.
