Today we're studying Maqam Hijaz. Whilst most people may naturally think this originated from the Hejaz region, its origins are actually Turkish.
Despite this, the most common place it's heard today is in fact in the Hejaz regions, most notably in Makkah and Madinah, as made famous by the Imams and mu'adhins who've masted this maqam and regularly display its heart-piercing melodious sounds during the salawat and the adhan.

To recite "Azan" with more than "2 harakats" on kalimah "Allah" is "haram". Don't try to "sing" a "song". Exceptable for "jahil" and no excuse to "jahil murakkab".

You shouldn't pray more because the qirat of the reciter is good, but rather to ponder upon the meaning. Undoubtedly good recitation does make everyone want to listen to more of it, but its important we do not give it undue importance or preference.

@@user-gy9ru9lu2g Thank you for the answer. the ones in the maqamat does follow tajweed thougg. Can you elaborate where can I learn about reciting the Qur'an according to "the practice"? What makes the difference between the maqamats in these videos and the "natural tune on the spot"? Because I am pretty sure these maqamats' tune were initially and naturally used by someone on the spot. Then it spreads because people like it and thats how it is gotten popular. Where do we draw the line?

@@syckle33 As for where to draw the line, these tunes, to my knowledge, weren’t originally used in Quran recitation but the recitation of poems and songs of musicians. One of the things that differentiates these maqamat from natural beautification is the extent gone to beautify the recitation. The beauty is built-in. Do not dedicate effort specifically to beautify, but dedicate more effort to learning tajweed, learning how to recite the Quran better.

The Turks who where the Khalifa or Islamic authority lost control of Makkah and Arabia in 1918 after the Arabs joined forces with the English in WW1 because the English promised the Arab rulers at the time that if they win they will recognise them as an independent country.
